Solved

I've never received Vu tower items.

Hi,
I have been playing simcity buildit for a little while and have been playing the slow game. I've been stocking up on items as I go and increasing storage. I recently unlocked Vu tower and managed to do the one free disaster. But in all my time of playing I have never received or even seen Vu items. Not 1.
I contacted customet support who told me that they believe me but can't do anything about it. They then recommended that I put my issue on the forum so it might be resolved there.
I wouldn't mind all that much but I have put about £40 into this game. Real money.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and would be very grateful for help.
  • Hello there :-)

I also believe you. It is rare to find Vu items in Global Trade, but I have been able to find some free ones by either hunting for and popping bubbles, as a visitor at another's city, or by popping bubbles with blue icons, (not the bubbles with the simoleons icon), in my own city...It takes an awful lot of popping though. If you really enjoy this app and plan on sticking with it, I would advise you purchase one or more Maxis Manors. Each Maxis Manor you purchase will not only act as Fire, Police, and Health coverage for nearly one-quarter of the TOTAL land area, but once every 24 hours you will be offered one Vu piece, (per Maxis Manor),in exchange for about 2,000 simoleons. Another option to get Vu items: If you have OMEGA buildings you can use the neosimoleons you earn to purchase Vu items at the neomall. I personally use all of these methods. You can purchase Maxis Manors by clicking either the Fire, Police, or Health icons, after clicking the Government building icon in the lower-right of your screen. You can begin your Omega building area, if you have not already done so, by clicking the Government building icon at the lower-right corner of your screen, then clicking the blue, government icon. You may have to "swipe" to go right in order to see the Neobank, Omega Lab, and the OMEGA Processing center.

...You will understand why you never see Vu items for sale, once you've seen the simcash price(s) of the Maxis Manor(s).

I hope this will answer your question. Please come back and let me know. Thank you :-)

Vu tower items are very rare and needs patient. Try popping every bubble you see in the city. Or try shopping them at the Global Trade HQ.

    Thanks for the reply.

I have been at it for ages i mean like to the point where i'm becoming obsessive over them!

I spend quite a lot of time on the game and honestly have never even seen a hint at one. Ever.

It is a really annoying issue.

Morning, Day, Night. Nothing. I get lots of bulldozer parts and lots of cameras, locks and grates. Never Vu items. No exaggeration.

I hope this will get fixed because if it doesn't I will just stop playing. I don't want to get angry over a mobile app.

I already take the game too seriously lol.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to me 🙂

Thank you for the very helpful reply/replies.

As I have been at it for ages it is nice to be able to bring my frustration to a close.

I will take your advice and I will purchase some Maxis Manors and keep visiting other cities.

It is really nice to ask a question and get 2 very polite and helpful replies, in the same day no less.

Thanks again for all the information 🙂

  • @chini_3008  Ah, the elusive Vu items you seek. I spend a lot of time collecting these. First, find the bubble storm. The blue thought bubbles and specialty icons go into a 'storm' every 24 hours and release items for @ 45 minutes. This storm will be accompanied by 4 special video ad bubbles that yield another 4 free items. The bubbles are usually released in pairs every 30 to 60 seconds. They will produce an item, usually, every other time they appear. The item will be expansion (land, beach, mountain) or Vu. I am at level 90+ now but at lower levels, the storm came 2x daily, 12 hrs apart. At a certain point, I reached 1.5 million in population, it started coming only 1x, 24 hrs apart.

Pop the bubbles religiously until they start releasing items. Mark the time. Spend an hour counting to 45 and pop bubbles for at least an hour. Come back 12 & 24 hrs later & try again. It will go off at or slightly after the marked time, sometimes as much as a half hour.  The game moves the start time every 3 - 4 days, just to make it maddening. Usually move it forward 3 -6 hrs. Just find it again.

When your city finishes the beach & mountain expansions, those items no longer appear. I also check Daniel every day. Sometimes he has one, sometimes he doesn't.  And, yes, I have 3 Maxis Manors. 8000 simcash for the 4th is too rich for my blood. Feel to ask questions, others may have some tips for you. Happy hunting.
