Re: SimCity 4 Delux Crash and Burn.
Hi @RokkoRVe308 - I moved your message to the Other SimCity Games forum since it's not about SimCity 2013.
I would be very frustrated if my game kept crashing, too. Unfortunately, SimCity 4 is an older game and wasn't built to run on today's newer systems. I don't have a lot of experience with SC4, but from what I understand random crashing has always occurred. It can often happen if you have a large city and choose to save at the same time you're moving to another region or exiting the game. If this is the case, try saving first and then moving or exiting without saving. That might help to stabilize the game a bit.
A few basic things to try:
Always run installation files "As Administrator"
Firewall and Antivirus - Make sure SimCity 4.exe and Origin.exe are added to exception lists. If you have BitDefender installed, disable it.
SimCity 4.exe and Origin.exe - Set them to run "as administrator"
Nahimic 2 from MSI - this is an audio management program that comes with MSI motherboards. Disable or uninstall it. Nahimic 2 is known to cause issues with many games.
Disable Origin in-game In Origin main menu, right-click SimCity 4 icon, Game Properties, check the box that says "Disable Origin In-game"
Run in Windows 7 compatibility mode - right-click SimCity 4 desktop shortcut; choose Properties > Compatibility tab > Check the box to run in Win 7 compatibility mode
Change the Graphics Rendering type to Software In the program settings, change the rendering type to "Software" If it's already set to Software, try changing to Hardware
Hopefully these changes can help to get the crashes down to a minimum. 🤞
