This game requires administrative privileges
See attachments. I run as a user on Windows 11 pro 23H2, so need to give explicit permission to run as administrator. Running the EA app as administrator gives the same result. I also tried running the simcity.exe file as administrator, but the same error messages appear, so no difference. I tried uninstalling the EA app and reinstalling, same result. Also tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling the game, same result. The crazy thing is this game ran fine on this machine earlier and I haven't changed anything. Maybe there's been an update from Microsoft or EA that made it stop working? The machine is a powerful modern PC with: 128GB RAM, 12 core 24 threads Ryzen 9 5900X, Radeon RX 6900XT GPU The machine specification has staid the same since it was working. No new components have been installed.
SMCY-26 Error
I am having issues with the 2013 SimCity game. I bought it today and the game loads to about ninety percent and then gives the SMCY 26 error code. EA support has not been helpful. I spent hours trying to fix this with no success. I repaired the game in the EA app reinstalled it into a fresh folder outside Program Files checked folder permissions set the EA app to run as administrator confirmed that no antivirus is active deleted leftover files from Documents and Local AppData restarted and updated my PC disabled startup apps and tried running the game in Windows 7 mode. My PC meets all system requirements. If anyone has suggestions please let me know. I do not know what else to try.
Gritty Mine in Cactus Canyon
Good day! I love SimCity, and one of my favorite regions is Cactus Canyon. Would it be possible to create at least one area in the Mountain Area (for example, the one I circled) so that I can place The Gritty Mine there? The mine looks amazing, and the only region where it really fits design-wise is Cactus Canyon. It’s not necessary to add the train line there. I would just like to be able to place that mine, as it would look great in that spot. Please try to make it possible somehow. I love this game, and I congratulate the creators for the excellent work they’ve done so far.Simcity gets crashing
From March 16, Simcity gets crashing, I have done everything suggested like restarting mobile, clearing cache, reinstalling, keeping 10gb free space, but after I close app next time I can't open app. It needs reinstalling everytime. Even worse I can' t see Mayors cotest etc from today it gives message error 17. Please solve these problems soon.
Plastic storage fills up in recycling center....now what?
So I build another platic storage, its fills up. I now have 4 plastic storage lots at recycling center and they are all full, so production shuts down and I keep getting alerts about it, what do I do? Hello So, it's not a new topic but since none of previous solutions work im starting new discussion. When launching simcity societies from app , or from all diffrent exe apps in folder ,destinations addon content just doesn't show up. I've literally tried every solution, copying shortcuts, moving destinations folder etc none of it works. Back when origin was running destinations were seperate game you could launch, maybe making it seperate game on ea app and not an addon could fix this problem.ERROR CODE SMCY-2
I'm unable to launch my Simcity 2013 game from the EA app. First I get this error: ERROR CODE SMCY-2. The second error I get when I click 'okay' after the first one is that I'm not connected to the internet. Part 2: Intelligent Refresh Timer (To the Right of the "General" tab) Implementing a 10-minute active session timer. Once activated: - The market listings will automatically refresh every 30 seconds for the duration of the 10 minutes. - This allows Mayors to see a constant stream of new sellers without having to manually close and reopen the market. Why this is needed: These features would make the Global Market much more dynamic and efficient, helping Mayors find exactly what they need within their budget and time frame. I really don't like the mass transit because it takes up so much space, but barely covers any area and it feels like half my city is just going to be train stations. Even the ones that have the most coverage don't seem to be enough. Is there anything that's going to change with this? Dear EA Strategy and Maxis Development Teams I am writing this message as a loyal fan and a long time player of the SimCity series. I want to share my thoughts on why now is the perfect time for a new SimCity title. Since 2013 the city building genre has changed but there is still a big gap in the market for the unique feel that only SimCity can provide. We miss the sophisticated simulation the distinct art style and the amazing music that made the series so special. With todays powerful hardware and AI the technical limits of the past are gone. As a player I am looking for a new SimCity experience that includes larger maps that allow for real city growth and deeper social simulations. I also hope for a strong single player mode that works offline and modern graphics that make the world feel alive. SimCity is a legendary brand. Bringing it back to its former glory is not just my dream as a player but also a great opportunity for EA. We are ready to be Mayors again. When will Maxis be ready to give us the keys to the city again. I look forward to seeing SimCity return. Best regards
Solution to sim city not launching
So, I think I cracked it and I have used a mixture of fixes from others (apologies I cannot remember their names) Delete the EA shortcut off the desktop go to C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\ Apply compatibility for both EALauncher and EADesktop under the compatibility tab in properties to: Run the program as an administrator For EALauncher compatibility mode to windows 8. Right click EADesktop and send shortcut to desktop Go to C:\Program Files\EA Games\SimCity\SimCity Right click onto SimCity and go to properties and apply compatibility mode for windows 8 and run as administrator. Restart the PC and open EADesktop from the desktop and then launch the game - it did throw up the unable to launch but straight after it booted up perfectly, and now I can load and play without issues.
