This is maybe caused by the PSN ID.In the following you can find an explanation on the regional coding for PlayStation 3.
PlayStation 3
The PS3 system is non-region specific, which means that you can use it to play game discs from any region in the world offline.
If you try to play online in a different region from your game disc, your PlayStation Network ID, your DLC code and/or purchased online content you may encounter issues. If the region codes of all of these do not match, then the user is unable to play online or access the online content purchased from a different region.
For example: If you have a Disk purchased from North America (region 1), you will need a PSN ID created for region 1, and a code or content purchased that is region 1 (purchased on the PSN Store with a region 1 PSN ID) in order to be able to play. This will work regardless of the region you live in.
Transactions made in one country are non-transferable to other countries. That means when you purchase a product in North America (region 1) you cannot use it in Germany (region 2). In this case you would need to purchase German (region 2) content (With a German PSN ID) to be able to play online in Germany even if you purchased the same content in North America.
Summary:- PS3 system is non-region specific as long as you play offline.
- If you play online your PSN ID, game disc, DLC and codes must have the same region coding.
