Hi, 73D581AF9DB45C7F here. I have the same problem. I called EA tech support twice and did everything they said and it still happens. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both ea app and sims 4 game 11 times now and I still can not get the game to load. I did notice every time I get to the sims 4 screen on ea app is says last played today and I haven't been able to load since May 2nd.
freeing up some storage and forcing the game to run on the most recent Proton update seems to have fixed things.
I have over 2 gigabytes of free space.
