I hope too! Will it make to console launch though..
- @hayhor You already have a 120Hz tv?!
@turoturboG60 likely not as I can hear this already:
Respawn: we’re gonna do 120fps on next gen
Cheap *: That’s unfair. Why should next gen get 120fps and not us as well. That gives them an unfair advantage over us!
Respawn; cause current gen cant handle 120fps...
Cheap *: not our fault or problem! You promote equality in gaming and ppl with your support for Black lives matter and by having LGBTQ+ members in your game. The same should apply for us gamers #equalityforallgamers!
And you know that enough idiots will see reason in that logic which’ll actually prompt Respawn or EA to take action xD.
But hopefully they’ll do it.
Disclaimer: I said cheap * as one group cause those are usually the noisiest. - @Koochi-Q I think performance difference between 60fps and 120fps is not that big of a difference that next-gen player beats current-gen player every time. 120fps game is just more pleasant experiece.
- @turoturboG60 Nope. Just 60 to 75Hz is a noticeable difference.
- You’re right, performance difference for the average person will not be noticed alot... but visual difference for that same person will definitely be seen. Just like with 30 and 60fps. You can see the difference but not necessarily respond adequately to the ‘subtle’ changes happening unless you are familiar with them.
That said, complainers don’t need a solid excuse to complain. Just the lack of something is enough xD.
Obviously my previous post was satirical but also true. It will happen. It already happend in games before. Luckily it usually doesn’t get much traction but it’s still there. - @Koochi-Q Yes I do. Wife wanted a tv in a room that didnt have one. So I moved an older one I used for gaming into that room and bought an lg nano85. No need for the 120 now but eventually I will.
- @turoturboG60 play about 1 week with 120+ fps and then switch back to 60 and you will immedietely notice huge difference.
I don't 100% agree with you on the fps diffetence because imo 30fps to 60fps gap is huge compaired from 60 to 120 fps. My opinion is based on my own experience playing Apex on pc with a controller. I can most definitely see the difference and thats why I want it on next-gen devices. On the other hand doubling the framerate from 30 to 60 is much much more greater than 60 to 120. And from 120 to 240 I can't see the difference but it can be felt.
I think people who know about frames and how framerate effects gameplay experience are going to buy Ps5 and Xbox Series X anyway to get that little boost to accuracy and reaction time in game. I hope they are not bothered by the fact that it will set current-gen consoles at disadvantage.
I hope the noisiest group will be the people who want better from their console💪
- @turoturboG60 Doesn't matter if it's 30Hz or 240Hz, it won't make any difference in Apex with 20 tick servers. :P
- @turoturboG60 Well I can only say that that might be because you are still used to 30fps. Or even less and I don’t mean it in an offensive insult implying that you are slow. Lemme elaborate.
Most games are still 30fps. It’s been made to feel ‘fluid’ tho but you can detect something being ‘wrong’. That said, if you only play 60fps for even a year, you might still be hardwired to see the huge difference between 30 and 60. Know why? Movies!
Most movies and shows, even nowadays, still play in 24fps because that gives it it’s theatrical effect. Some movies up the ante to 30 but shows are usually the only ones going higher.
With 60 and 120, it’s much closer to the speed your eyes can catch upon so it looks like a lesser change, but it’s still a bigger leap in terms of actual frames than 30 and 60fps.
It’s like you are driving a car at 120 miles an hour while your opponent does 60. He’ll see you’re dust faster than when you are doing 60 and him doing 30 xD. Yeap. Two big things matter more than server tickrate though: gameplay experiense and aiming. Things happening on your screen makes everything. Everything else on the server side is almost irrelevant. Gameplay experience needs server side a little but it is mostly unseen.
- @turoturboG60 Doesn't matter if you have true aim and good movement when you still get shot behind cover or doors because it takes seconds for this game to realise what's going on which effects your experience. If you press your Q button to fast now, Lifeline doesn't even pop the drone out for example when it used to be instant.
With lower end hardware it'll probably be less noticeable but server side on apex doesn't keep up with modern computers which is why PC competitive is dead. - @apostolateofDOOM woah woah woah I read something about pushing lifelines q button and popping something.......
👀 @hayhor All the attention goes to Wraith but Lifeline has needs too!
Just got to take your time with her is all. 😉
- @apostolateofDOOM If you feel that you get shot behind cover. Then you have the same advantage against him coming out of cover. And coming out your aim and movement is desiding factor.
@turoturboG60Difference being what's shown on a lower end screen is more representative than a higher one.
Coming from someone who started playing Apex on a 60 to now 144Hz.- Gabrielmojo265 years agoSeasoned Ace@apostolateofDOOM Was going to comment just that before deciding to read all replies lol.
120 won't make any damn difference, servers are clocked at 20hz
