i have the same freaking problem. but i am stuck at 1.4, so i just cant update it! i have tried to download the update from the download side (cant remember what hte name was) but it just keep cancelling it!

    I have done a fresh 64 Bit Windows 8 install .   Installed 2142 from disk. Tried installing 1.51 patch and it says "You already have a newer version installed"

    I installed the 1.4 full patch then

     Tried installing 1.51 patch and it says "You already have a newer version installed"

    So I tried starting the game with the 1.4 patch installed. run as administrator and Win XP SP3 compat.

    Started it from the DVD Autorun. Start BF 2142.  It says please insert the DVD-ROM and restart application.
