Re: Moving "Battlefield 2" from Origin account to Steam account?

Thanks for the help.

However if that is the case, I would like to know what would be different, if hypothetically I bought the game again on Steam:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/24860/

As far as I understand, it would then still require Origin, but it would also be listed in my Steam library.

Another quetion that comes to mind: Would simply adding the game to my Steam Library be identical to having bought the game from Steam?

If you buy the game on Steam you all so can not transfer it to Origin and it would not matter if you log in to Steam and from there start to play it would show your Steam ID since bf2 has been set for this and it would not ask you from Origin ID you would simply play whit your Steam ID that is pretty much it

if this helps pleas give XP to my account thanks

"If you buy the game on Steam you all so can not transfer it to Origin ..."

But I have read in this article and from some reports that it is entirely possible to move some EA games from Steam to Origin (though I couldn't anything about the other way around).

Could it be that only newer EA games can be transferred and only to Origin?

I remember that at the time when I bought BF2, Origin didn't exist and the game wasn't available on Steam. But now it is available there, so I was just wondering.

    Thank you again.

I really don't know who created that but as I say if it was possible I would say it but it is not sorry when you buy a game it is tied to the account you bought it from and can not be transferred this site maybe just falls as I say there is no way you can contact support to make sore but it will be just a waist of time since it is not possible but if you still what to try then

For this you will need to contact Origin/EA support they will gladly help you whit this problem https://help.ea.com/en/origin go here press contact as give information press I still need help at the bottom of the page and then press start live chat and you will get a live chat whit an EA agent that will be glad to help you

if this helps pleas give XP to my account thanks

I just contacted support and they were very helpful.

Here is an abridged version of the conversation:

    ----------

    Gurminder
So, you want to transfer the game from origin to steam?

    you
    Exactly

I bought a digital copy of that game in 2010.
Origin didn't exist at that time.

    Gurminder
    Is it an EA game?

    you
    Yes

    Gurminder
May I please know the name?

    you
    Battlefield 2: Complete Edition

    Gurminder
    Okay,thank you for the information.

    you
    Is a transfer possible?

    Gurminder
[...] it actually depends on steam , if they allow you to transfer the game to the steam account.

We support the game transfer from steam to origin account, as it is an EA game.
    Now, that depends on them.

    you
    I see.

    Gurminder
SO, I would kindly suggest you to please contact the steam.
    For more information and resolution.

Is there anything else I can assist you with?

    you

    Thank you. :-)
    Nope, that's it.

    Thank you very much

    Gurminder
