Re: Unlocking the M1911 with no Gun Club

Heya Daniel, the M1911 is available to everyone with a veteran status from any other Battlefield game. If you don't own any of the older Battlefield titles, no worries, you can still get the weapon by playing one of our free to play Battlefields: http://www.battlefieldheroes.com/ or http://battlefield.play4free.com/

Log in with your Origin account (the same you are using for Battlefield 3), jump into a game or two, re-log into Battlelog and the weapon should be unlocked for you.

Note: In order to get this working, make sure that your Xbox and Origin account are linked together. You can find a short how-to here: http://answers.ea.com/t5/Battlefield-3/I-d-like-to-link-my-PSN-account-to-my-new-origin-account/m-p/1219252#M84965

Should there be any error message at the end (except "no friends were added") please contact a Game Advisor at https://help.ea.com/contact-us for further assistance with linking your accounts.

Very good Dennis but what can we do now that these free games are shut down? I have friends that need the m1911 without the suppressor + tactical light, because you know, supressor has been nerfed way too much for being usable nowadays in bf3

Without the free games you will have to purchase another Battlefield game in order to raise your veteran status to "1" or greater.

Here's the sticky on the issue:  http://answers.ea.com/t5/Battlefield-3/Veteran-Status-getting-the-M1911-in-Battlefield-3-and-the-EA-Gun/m-p/4807779#U4807779

If you cannot remedy it via the instructions in the sticky speak with a game advisor, after you provide proof of ownership they can manually add BF2 to your veteran status. You can reach a game advisor here:  https://help.ea.com/contact-us click on the orange button on the right to start a new case, follow the instructions and when you are presented with a contact method I recommend that you use the telephone option and the “call me” option so you don't have to stay on hold for a long time. The call back feature available to North America, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Slovakia, Switzerland, and the UK.

If I play a Battlefield game that is newer than BF3, does it count  for the veteran status? (I have played 3 battlefields, BF3, BF4 and BF1, and I have came back to BF3, but the M1911 does not show up)

    Thanks in advance.

  • Just bought an account. EA help cannot help you with getting veteran status anymore. They had option to give a player old games to activate status, but that is history as I have contacted them. Any other ideas?

I'm closing this thread to stop it being necroed.

If you have any issues with Battlefield 3 please make a new topic about the issues you are having and what kind of steps you have tried to solve it.
