Red Dots look absolutely atrocious

I recently got jumped back into BF4, and I noticed that the red dots look completely different. Before they were transparent and looked more realistic. Now the red dot is a completely solid dot, and it looks really bad.

I attached some examples. I don't an example for the crappy red dot for BF4, but it looks exactly like the red dot from BF3

    You can change it in game in advanced gameplay options - there is a group of settings allowing you to change size, transparency and color of your short and mid-range optics. If you reduce the transparency, it will probably be more to your liking.
