MD5 queries are basicly the game trying to check that you havn't changed the game files. For some reason you computer is not doing that. It could be because you have cheat installed, corrupted files, an external program like antivirus blocking it or something else entirely.
As a start I would reinstall and update Punkbuster by trying Simple Solution 1+2 in my Punkbuster guide located at:
