Re: EA Play Pro vs. Standard Version

@BaronVonSardine

It certainly is a viable strategy to get you into Battlefield 2042 Early Access on the 12th.

Yes, when you let the EA Play Pro subscription expire, the game version will switch to your Standard Edition, stand-alone purchase at that time. There will be no loss of progress or unlocks as long as the Standard Edition has been redeemed under the same EA Account as the EA Play Pro account.

The only issue worth noting is that EA Play Pro will include the Ultimate Edition of Battlefield 2042 as you mentioned, so you may lose some cosmetic items when you switch down to the Standard Edition.

  • Fantastic! Thank you very much for the quick reply @carsono311. Really appreciate it.

    I don't particularly care about the cosmetic items, so this sounds like the strategy I'll be going with.

    See you on the battlefield!

  • Another quick question if I might. I have EA Pro at the moment for BF2042. Lets say later I decide I want to purchase Ulitmate Edition, will my progress transfer over to the bought version?

    @SystemReset: this shouldn't be a problem if you use the same EA account for both; the progress is linked to the account, not the license that lets you play the game.
    (I started with EA-Play test phase via Gamepass, then bought the standard edition, all stats kept.)
    But maybe better wait until BF2042 is part of EA-Play (not Pro), or be really sure that the game and its current status is worth your money!
