Re: My ideas for Battlefield 2042

1. Bringing old maps

- Both Battlefield 3 and 4 have done this with old maps. Battlefield 3 did this with its DLC 'Back to Karkand', bringing old maps from Battlefield 2 and reimagining them in Frostbite 2. A few years later, Battlefield 4 did the same thing with 'Second Assault' and 'Legacy Operations', bringing some maps from Battlefield 3 maps and some from 2 as well.

So just imagine, that some maps that are like 16 years later, get the upgrade to the latest Frostbite engine. I highly believe that old Battlefield veterans will find this feature really cool.

Agree.

2. Bringing back Scavenger

- To be quite frank, this mode is one of my favorites in the whole franchise, and it's sad that after Battlefield 3 we didn't see it anymore. For those that don't know, Scavenger was a game mode that came with the 'Aftermath' DLC. It's pretty much like Conquest but on steroids. Players start equipped with only a knife, one grenade, and a sidearm with four magazines, and must search the map for more powerful weapons to increase their chance at survival.

I have somehow the feeling this "hazard zone" mod could be some sort of reimagination of "Scavenger".

3. Dog tag competition

- Back in the early stages of Battlefield 4, DICE held an event where players got to make their own dog tags. The best ones got to stay in the game. I think it would be pretty cool to see something like that again.

I disagree, while it would a nice community Event, I still think it needs a lot of Resources to implement this things (first you need someone to suggest this, then it needs approval, then you needs some who is picking up the best, then you needs some who translate it to the engine, then you needs some who give an approval for this again).

4. Day changing to Night

- As far as I know, this has never been done in Battlefield, like ever. But I think, thanks to the new version of Frostbite, maps will be able to change sky as the match goes by. For example. If the match starts at like sunset, over time, the map will slowly turn to night.

I agree and disagree at the same time. We need "different" times of Maps, but it should not rush a "day" while you play on a map, in this type it would be more useful when the "Tornado, sandstorm, blizzard" and such things are come and change the "biome" .
So we have One map but with 4 or 5 different times... like Dawn, Daytime, Dusk, Night and so on.

5. Cool Easter Eggs

- Battlefield always had easter eggs, and I think that Battlefield 2042 should be no exception. Maybe EA should make another forum that focuses on easter egg and upcoming releases.

Williams scream, dancing crabs, a Yeti, a Sandworm ala Dune... yeah I hope also for Easter Eggs and agree.

6. Map editor

- Many games have the option for the players to make maps of their own and submit their work on different websites and maybe, those maps will get added. For example, most Counter-Strike maps that are still in the current version have been made by the community. Maybe this feature could bring the developers and players closer together. Not only will people be able to express their imagination through making maps.

Even if the maps that users made haven't been accepted into the game, could be in like workshop or something like that, where users can download them and play them on their own. Or have servers dedicated to just play user made maps.

I would like to see this, it should be also available on Console but sadly this will not gonna happens. I would like to see in a future installment a Map Editor what FarCry 5 (and maybe FarCry 6 does?) did, where you can create one map on one platform, but it will also works on all different platforms aswell. But for Battlefield 2042 it is probably to late for such a feature, because something like this needs proper planning and proper preparation to work very well and also to be crafted. It is maybe also a huge "Resource" taker aswell (coding, legal department, costs).

7. CO-OP Missions

- This isn't something that Battlefield is really known for. I believe only Battlefield 3 had this feature, but it would be a great addition to the game.

Well Battlefield V had also the "Combined Arms" mode, which was a "Co-Op" experience... but it wasn't very fun at least for me.

8. Range Finder

- Range Finder was first added in Battlefield 4. Now, I won't go in too much detail about it and how to use it, I'm going to make a video about it on my YouTube soon though for anyone who doesn't know how to use it. It helped me with hitting some awesome shots and i think that adding it in this Battlefield, which is already in a near future setting.

We had something similiar on Battlefield 1 with the trench perisscope and on Battlefield V with the spotting scope. I would like to have in general a "bincolur".
On Battlfield V we also had the option to set a "Ping" which tells you the difference in "meter" from your position.
