Re: [PC] Bad performance with Ryzen 5 2600x and RTX2060?

Yes I have "Memory Try It !"

I looked at the QVL and fout that  HyperX Predator for 111€ but  what about 2x16G for 220€? or 4x8GB for 152€?

For gaming you won't need more than 16GB total. So a 2x8GB memory kit would be ideal. I wouldn't play more than 100 euros for a 2x8GB 3,200Mhz memory kit.

I see 2x8GB 3,200Mhz kits selling for $70 in USA.

I found a 2x8GB 3,200Mhz kit that's on your motherboard's QVL list for $63 on USA amazon, but I don't know if it's available in your country.

1 month later and with the help of black friday of amazon, i have now 2 sticks of 16GB Crucial CT16G4DFRA32A.C8FB. I bought 16 gigs to help me while playing other games live Cities Skyline 🤓 )

BF2042 is at 55-60 FPS on medium now with some frames drops to 40-50 when too many action happens in all out warfare but the game is much smoother now and is now playable.

    Thanks for all ! 👍😎

(And now I run BF5 on ultra 1080p at 70 frames without any frames drop!)

The game seems to be heavily CPU limited. When using the perfoverlay.drawfps command I'm seeing the CPU (R5 3600) dropping to the 40's a lot while my GPU (2070S) is over 100 easily at all times. To upgrade my rig for non gaming programs I'm putting in a new CPU this week (R7 5800X) so I'll see how much of a difference that will make.

How did the 5800X affect performance?

(Yes, epic necro, I know, but I was looking for something.)

  • so I just upgraded my rig to have 32GB ram for when I'm screwing around in Unreal editor. I've notice since then while running bf2042 I have 19.2GB of ram used and a little over 10GB VRAM used. game still crashes 50/50 when starting a round. as for performance I think the game is just so poorly optimised as I'm sure I should be getting a higher fps than 90-130fps at 1440p

    Specs:

    5600x CPU (OC 4.8ghz)

    4 x 8gb (32gb) 3600mhz cl14 RAM

    1TB Samsung 970 NVME

    Powercolor Red Devil 6900xt

I run game at ultra no RT
