Re: Can't ADS after exiting vehicle with SFAR equipped

@rottentreats

Yup, these are some of my symptoms too. It happens pretty frequently but I have no exact repro steps.

This has been far worse recently, maybe with the latest update? One of my teammates experienced it pre-patch but less often. I've only experienced it this patch.

This happens to me on PS5 as well and now it seems more frequent since I took off the launcher from my weapons

I found a fix, reinstall the game.  I'm serious.

So I just tried this. It seems that it's when you exit a gunner or mounted weapon position. I tried w/and w/o under barrel launcher. Didn't happen from passenger seat, only mounted weapon. I'll keep testing.

Summarize your bug Entering vehicle with certain loadouts causes massive desync issues for the player. Entering and exiting the vehicle NEVER resolves the issue. This occurs in every game mode with vehicles, including Hazard Zone, and it does not matter if you spawn in the vehicle or call it in via the drop system.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1. Enter a solo game. 2. Spawn with an AK-24 with the masterkey underslung, champion muzzle brake, K8 holo, and standard ammo. 3. Get in a vehicle. 4. Drive around as fast as you can and drift around. 5. Get out (when the vehicle is moving) and check if you can aim down sight. 6. Repeat steps 3-5 until it breaks.
What happens when the bug occurs? Everything breaks.
What should be happening instead? None of this should happen.

Entering vehicle with certain loadouts causes massive desync issues for the player. Entering and exiting the vehicle NEVER resolves the issue. This occurs in every game mode with vehicles, including Hazard Zone, and it does not matter if you spawn in the vehicle or call it in via the drop system.

Repro Steps:

A number of issues that can occur (but sometimes only some of these issues will appear):
1. Nothing happens when you use the aim down sight key. (This one always happens)
2. When pinging a location with Q, it appears where you entered the vehicle last. (This one always happens)
3. Nothing happens when you use the reload key.
4. When shooting, the UI does not update your bullet count. Your bullets in the mag run out after 30 shots anyway and your character automatically reloads.
5. Bullets may not do any damage.
6. The game gives you out of bounds warning even though you are not out of bounds on the map.
7. You may not be able to enter the vehicle again if your position is sufficiently desynced.
8. May not be able to open doors or otherwise interact with the world.
9. Grenades appear to turn sharply in midair when you throw them.
10. Selecting different attachments on the T menu does not update the currently selected attachment on the T menu but selects them anyway.
11. Sometimes, opening the T menu yields an empty menu except 1,2,3,4 in the center.
12. Sometimes, you can't switch to your sidearm.
13. As Angel, when you try to call in a supply drop, no circle indicator appears on the ground, but the supply drop appears anyway.
14. Shooting with your sidearm or underslung weapon (if you can) has no recoil (but you can't aim down sight on them either).

3 different instances of me triggering the bug:
https://streamable.com/z6noxs

https://streamable.com/oj35wg

https://streamable.com/bowh1u

In the last video, using the out of bounds warning, I was able to pinpoint my desync distance to about 25m as you can see around the 4 minute mark.

List of things that do not fix this bug:

1. Getting downed and getting revived

2. Entering and exiting vehicle

3. Shooting in the vehicle

4. Switching seats in the vehicle

5. Reinstalling the game.

6. Resetting both profile save files.

7. Changing the weapons that are on the vehicle.

8. Getting into another vehicle.

9. Switching to another weapon / melee / grenade / gadget / abilities.

List of things that do fix this bug:

1. Respawning when this occurs

2. Rarely, jumping may fix the issue, but often times not.

3. Equipping another underbarrel attachment causes fewer issues.

I believe this is the most detailed breakdown so far of this common and gamebreaking bug. Unfortunately, as of now, it's not even listed as a known issue.

List of other threads describing the issue:

It's a fairly common problem that's affecting people all the time, and yet not listed as a known issue.

Here's an incomplete list of threads I've found describing this bug as well:

Possible workaround I just discovered: remove your grenade launcher attachment (assuming you're using one). Switch to a grip or remove it altogether. I can consistently replicate this issue as well as break out of it now.

1: Equip a grenade launcher on your weapon (I'm using AK)

2: Jump into a vehicle such as a LATV4 and quickly jump back out. Even if you repeatedly enter and exit a few times, that should be enough to replicate the bug.

3: Confirm you can't ADS

4: Switch to a grip

5: ADS works again

Yup exactly 💯

@PsynchroAbout to do so myself. I'll try to come back with my update.

Update: Did not work. Uninstalled, deleted all BF2042 folders, re-installed, still happened in HZ after exiting a LATV4.

It seems there may be multiple things that cause the issue, but one of them is grenade launchers and yes, removing the grenade launcher seems to fix it in that case.

Summarize your bug It happens in all modes not just Breakthrough as stated above. Same bug happens in two occasions: ⚽ When deploying for the first time into a new game, and 🏈 When exiting a vehicle at any point during the game. The bug is that aiming down sights (holding right mouse button) does not work in these instances. Mouse works flawlessly in the game otherwise, bugged only in instances ⚽ and 🏈 above. The bug is demonstrated here: https://twitter.com/nomoreowls/status/1467999532155813895. What ALSO happens is that all weapon types and ammo are crossed out, and they activate when I select them. This never happens otherwise. Occasionally, when this bug happens, the PLUS menu is also bugged out. I tried repairing game files and re-installing game through Origin (where I usually launch the game from), but to no avail. I'm using a Roccat Kone XTD mouse with updated drivers.

I edited the above post with a new dxdiag file as the one I first submitted was a little dated.

Does this on the PS5 also.

I occasionally get this too. Cannot seem to replicate it accurately and all the time though.

Cant stand this bug anymore since patch 3 every single time i get into a vehicles and exit it i cant ADS anymore and i also loose the interaction with the vehicle so i cant even reenter it 1 time out of 3 ..

But i can no longer ADS 99% oFthe time after exiting vehicles FIX THISSS ALREADY !

The only ADS I get are the billboards around the maps. You see more ADS than that??!

This is 1 of 2 things that had me stop playing the game. I just want to play Portal... but how can you with this kind of bug going on? And also in Portal there is the "death loop" bug where you can't respawn and forced to leave the game... or at least it was there a few days ago. Have any new patches come out in the past few days?
