BF2042 Disconnects PC from Internet
Hey guys, I receive the error code ‘1:3300J:1502I:-891751198O:0B’ every time I launch the game. Surprisingly, the game completely disconnects my PC from my router (or its internet service). Please watch the screen recording I provided below. It only takes two and a half minutes. The left command prompt is pinging google.com, and the upper right is pinging the BFV server. Notice they both went timeout when the game started, and I checked my chrome by loading google.com, and it says ‘DNS PROBE FINISHED NO INTERNET.’ As soon as the game was closed, everything became normal. In addition, when the game launches and closes, there is a device connection and disconnection sound. Not sure if that is related to the problem. All drivers are up to date, and I have already reinstalled windows multiple times, but this problem persists. I’m not sure if this is a bug or if 2042 is messing up something in the background. My laptop is Alienware X14 with i7-12700H, RTX 3060, 32GB LPDDR5, and Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211. Please help if possible. Thanks a lot!
Camera broken Lis rocket vehicles in Solo/Co-op

(dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 08.03.2023 Summarize your bug Using lis guided rocket breaks vehicle and rocket camera, rocket camera stuck looking at floor so impossible to aim and vehicle camera stays static underground no matter where vehicle goes. How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%) Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Fire a lis missile once then try again, restarted and updated system still able to repeat. What happens when the bug occurs? Camera for guided missile stares at players feet and vehicle camera goes far under map and doesn’t move even if the vehicle is being driven. What should be happening instead? Not that. Photo 1 is inside a vehicle and 2 is after firing a guided missile.
Portal or Servers Broken and Chat is Broken, Wi-Fi Driver Issue

Player count not updating on portal The player count appears to be stuck and does not change I first noticed this yesterday and again today; the numbers have remained exactly the same on both days 2. Can't Choose Maps? On the official matchmaking options, there is no way to choose specific maps Please add a map selection option, and provide better visibility of available servers so players can choose where to play, including for Quick Play Additionally, the matchmaking queue often takes a very long time while waiting for a game to start on this only 1 option, so the alternative solution is to look on portal servers 3. In‑game chat not working or broken The in‑game chat is not appearing, I cannot see other players’ messages? I initially thought this was a settings issue on my side, but after checking my settings and testing, the problem persists, last 2025 mid - year -> I have no issues on this, so I was wondering why it is not showing and I thought it was a new feature or something, but it seems to be broken I tested Battlefield 6 on the same system, and chat works there normally. This issue seems specific to Battlefield 2042 on Steam 4. Let’s Fine-Tune Air-Ground Balance for Better Parity
Shoutout to the absolute beasts who can pilot choppers or jets with insane precision—those 50+ kill streaks are impressive and showcase real skill. That said, aircraft often hold a massive, lopsided advantage over ground forces. I get the logic: control the skies, control the battlefield. But when one great pilot farms the lobby unchecked, it discourages infantry play and sours matches. Credit where due: skilled flying should be rewarded. But we can level the playing field slightly without nerfing pilots into irrelevance—making them work harder for those god-tier runs. A few targeted tweaks worth considering: Lower the minimum altitude for lock-on weapons — Right now, aircraft can hug the deck to break locks too easily. Dropping that threshold a bit would reward pilots who stay high and maneuver smartly, while giving shoulder-fired options (Stingers, etc.) more consistent windows against low-flying harassers. Extend flare cooldowns meaningfully — Flares already recharge, but compare that to ground vehicles (tanks reloading shells take forever) or support players restocking grenades/smoke grenades. A longer refresh would force pilots to manage cooldowns more carefully, use terrain/cover, or risk getting punished during downtime—without removing their escape tool entirely. Buff stationary AA (spawn-based flak/AA guns) — Increase effective range and damage/lethality so they actually threaten aircraft that get too bold near objectives or spawns. This gives teams passive tools to contest airspace without relying solely on mobile AA or dedicated engineers. Reduce lock-on times or acquisition range for ground AA launchers slightly — But pair it with higher damage on hit or faster projectile speed. This makes skilled pilots (who break locks with maneuvers) still dominant, but gives average players a better shot at contributing to takedowns—rewarding quick locks without making it too easy to spam. These changes wouldn’t dethrone great pilots—they’d just demand even sharper decision-making, better positioning, and teamwork (e.g., coordinating with friendly air or ground AA). Top flyers would still shine, but the average match would feel less one-sided when an ace joins.
New bugs in 2026
After renewing my EA Play subscription, I returned to Battlefield 2042, but since then, I haven't been able to enter a single 2042 session. Every time I try, my network card crashes. I've tried updating my network card driver, motherboard BIOS, clearing the cache, updating and fixing anti-cheat measures, updating my NVIDIA graphics card driver, and using my phone's hotspot, but without exception, I get the same error message. I'm starting to believe that DICE is trying to drive players to Battlefield 6, but this will only drive players away. My IP address is in the US, so I'm sure it's not a VPN issue.
Game crashes WiFi turned off
Last few days like everyone else portal empty or errors and can't open a game. However...even worse is when I can open a game, after 20-30s the game crashes, no conection to EA servers and my wifi is turned off. Can't restart my Pc (W11) or shutdown so have to press the Pc case reset button to reboot. B4 not affected.
BF6's Release Broke BF2042's Portal Editor
Since BF6's release I have been unable to access BF2042's Portal Editor, the website has me in a loop of signing in and sending me back to the BF6/BF2042 Portal Editor selector, or sometimes simply not signing me in and putting me in the 2042 Portal Editor with none of my experiences saying "Unable To Retrieve Your Experiences". I'm unsure if this is an issue everyone is facing, but I just wanted make everyone aware that this is happening. I've been working on some BF2042 projects that I would like to finish and I'm sure this issue will be fixed eventually if it isn't already.

Hello. I have one big problem with this game. Problem is when I try to start play the battlefield. When the game is loading, I can only see this: " Secure Boot is not enabled. Looking for some help problem solving an intermittent error I'm getting 0:85008S:468882297O:0Q I'll be mid game and I will suddenly disconnect from the server and then reconnect but booted from the game about 15/20 seconds later. Sometimes it causes discord to go out, sometimes it does not. My internet connect monitor records no loss of internet connection and as noted sometimes I can keep a perfect discord connection. Other times I can quickly tab out and load up a youtube video or other webpage no problem so I don't think its my internet connection. Some days it doesn't happen at all. Often its just once a session. Today it happened like 4 times in 2 hours. No other impact on play. So far I have tried restarting my computer when it happens but that does not always solve the problem like today. My nvidia drivers are up to date and have a relatively new PC with a i7 14700k and an RTX 4060Ti. Any help troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated. After I post this I will likely start a reinstall.
EA Anti-Cheat Crashing Wi-Fi on Launch – Windows Troubleshooting Job Instead
This is honestly ridiculous.. I paid full price for Battlefield 2042 (and also own Battlefield V), expecting a working game – you know, the basic thing you get when you buy a title in 2026. Instead I’m sitting here dealing with my Wi-Fi completely crashing / network adapter dying every single time the game launches or tries to connect to a server. It’s clearly an EA Anti-Cheat issue (Javelin or whatever it’s called now) conflicting with Wi-Fi drivers – tons of people are reporting the exact same thing for months already. And what do I get as a “solution”? Reinstalling network drivers, running repairs, turning off features in Windows, adding exceptions everywhere, or – my personal favorite – “just use a cable bro”. Are you serious? I bought a game, not a second job troubleshooting Windows for a multi-billion dollar company. This level of paranoia from anti-cheat is insane – it’s breaking legitimate players’ internet connections instead of actually catching cheaters. Fix your **bleep** anti-cheat already. People shouldn’t have to waste hours tinkering with their OS just to play a game they already paid for. Absolute joke.
Network or Server errors
The servers are broken. Or half broken. They seem to be operating normally but in reality they're cutting out for split seconds every minute or so but still allow matches to continue though with major latency/ping. Not on my end, EA. You want surveys and people to give input on forum survey etc? Start with the dozens of errors people report every day that don't get addressed until I open a case and get someone who doesn't speak anything but Czech to chat with.
High CPU Usage (80-90%) and Input Lag since Season 2
I am reporting a significant performance degradation that started after the Season 2 update. My CPU usage has increased to 80-90%, which causes severe input lag and stuttering, making the game unplayable. Recent patches have not resolved this issue. My System Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti RAM: 32GB T-Create 6000MHz Despite having a high-end system, the game feels unresponsive. Please investigate why the CPU optimization has regressed since Season 2.
