Re: Season 6 Network disconnect when starting game

Hello, i have bought bf 2042 standard edition from steam. When i click play either from steam or EA app  the s6 banner shows, and when the game stars my network adapter goes down and i cannot do anything until i restart the computer. I have updated all my drivers. The only thing i havent done is a fresh windows install. Anyone know a fix?

What exactly do you mean by 'network adapter goes down'? Is your PC's network a wired dial-up connection? The game disconnects from the network when it starts loading? If so, then we should be encountering the same problem.

Hello, so after the s6 logo, the game stars and my adapter goes down ( when i click reconnect it says already connected, if i disconnect then connect i get there is a hardware problem with your network adapter. After restart the internet woks just fine. I have ethernet cable direct in my pc. It is the only game where i have this problem. If i buy the game from origin it works just fine but not from steam..

Our problem is very similar, and it only started happening in S6. There is reason to suspect that it is caused by their newly introduced EA Anticheat. But there are only two of us players here, and there is no one from DICE or EA to fix our bugs.

Sad.

where should we post the problem then? i think they will look but if there are few with this problem will take time resolving it.

I don't know, according to their description this is here, or go to the bug report section? I think the key is whether there are employees who read these posts. It seems we can only wait.

I have the same problem with this update. Until 6.0 everything worked flawless, but now I cannot play because the damn game crush my dial up internet connection and I need to restart every time in order to restore my internet!

This is pure junk and of course nobody cares!

I have added a router to my PC. But there’s a reason I didn’t do that before. Just hope someone sees this and fixes it ASAP.

And thru the router, game still disconnect your internet or not?

No. As I suspected, it seems the anticheat killed the dialup service/process or something. When you add a router, there is no dialing because the router does it and it's taken care of.

I don't think EA/DICE will take care of this too soon... 

Remember the bug with unusually very high cpu usage? They solved it after several months.

Yes. Especially since this problem seems to exist in FIFA 23. I even suspect that they don't know about this problem at all, because not many people use dial-up anymore and no one reads my posts except you.

They have a "bug report" section where we can write about technical issues with the game. I already did that.

You can do the same,maybe someone at DICE will take notice about this annoying and pretty rare bug.

Thank you, I know, I chose to post it here after seeing the description of Trouble with connectivity under the title of Technical Issues. Maybe I'm wrong, but the Bug Reports section seems to be more about discussing in-game bugs. In fact, these don't matter, the key is that there must be developers to view the content.

So,if i'm getting right,when you start the game via router and not direct cable into the motherboard lan,there are no crashes and everything works?

I guess I have to buy a new router now,the old one was fried 🌝 couple months ago. I don't really need a new one,but it seems that BF 2042 asks for it in order to function properly 😳

I did that,but no results... This is getting ridiculous,we paid for a game that we cannot play because it shutting down the internet connection.

Hey, did you guys found a fix? I have the same problem, now with BF6, had it also recently with BF1 (tho i played that game some years back without any problems).

Two years of this bug and still no fix.
