  • hi, i have bought the game when it launched day 1. I haven't been able to play because of the black screen on launch. A few weeks ago my liquid cooler was malfunctioning. I had it send for rma. I had installed my old cpu liquid cooler. And to my suprise i was able to play battlefield 2042 for the first time sinds launch more than a year ago! Now i had my broken cpu liquid cooler replaced with a new one. I installed it yesterday and gues what? I can't play bf2042 anymore. Back to the black screen on launch. Very frustrating. The liquid cpu cooler is de corsair h150i

  • Its 2024 this bug still exists, Ive tried everything; ea anticheat reinstall, repair, reinstall, firewall settings and nothing is working, so specifcally which folder/files did you delete for the repair to work.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    @787361009f8bd716 hey man.
Disable the ingrated HD gpu , and test game again.
I also see some windows (apps) errors in youre dxdiag.
Also some system drivers could need an update !

Check in elevated command pro,pt with "sfc /scannow" for errors.
Also check if an cleanboot is a "temp." fix , reply and update us please !

    Cheers
  • Hi I tried disabling the HD GPU and battlefield now shows an error on start before closing. Furthermore I am unsure about the windows errors in dxdiag, but systems drivers are updated.

Unfortunately none of this worked. When I tried entering sfc/scannow in command propt I was unnable to check for errors (I probabaly did something wrong). Lastly I am unaware on how to check if a cleanboot is a temp.

edit* I was able to figure out the elevated command promt and ran sfc/scannow and wrp did not find any integrity violations

@787361009f8bd716  This Screenshot 2024-04-22 160056.png does show an error with intergrated (at cpu) UHD graphicscard.
Ya need to check if there is some kinn of a mux switch (software related or and hardware switch) to disable or switch to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU.

What cause the error is that BF2042 want to run at the Intel(R) UHD Graphics <-- and this card does not support this.
Check if there is an option to make sure BF2042 will run at the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU,

At some systems ya are able to switch of the Intel UHD by bios.
Or some software switch (somekind of a mux switch).
Or even by a combo of keys at keyboard to switch/activate the nvidia card.

Also in some occasions ya can set in nvidia control panel what program should run at the nvidia cards.

In windows 11 ya are able to set this sometimes also , Settings /Gaming / Gamemode /Graphics , check if bf2042 is in the list or add it, then select advanced for at the bf2042 tab and select what device bf2042 should use !

    Cheers

Keep us up to date please !

i did some investigation for you:
to switch gpu the ya need to do this in MSI CENTER
GPU Switch: Select MSHybrid Graphics Mode or Discrete Graphics Mode or
    Intergrated Graphics Mode.

Manual at: https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/nb/Notebook_MSI_Center_EN.pdf check for page 28

Graphics settings for BF2042 windows 11

  • Wow its finally fixed thank you soooooo much, turned out yesterday I accidently dsiabled my nvida gpu instead of the integrated one on devince manager. Doing the opposite and disabling integrated while turing on nvida did the job.

After a little more testing integrated has to be disabled even while the nvida card is selceted for Battlefield.
