@Froztd  If ya run SFC /SCANNOW , do ya get errors everytime ?

Press Windows key + 'R' ,typ CMD
Press and hold down CTRL + SHIFT and press ENTER.
When User Account Control shows up, click Yes.
    Use the following command line:

    chkdsk /f

Reboot system, now checkdsk will run before windows boots, dont touch/cancel it.
Let it run and tell us if ya see any errors/fixes

Did ya OC anything in bios (XMP is profile 1?)
Ya use DDR5 memory , what Hz is it capable to run on?
In what slots did ya set those ram stick(s) <-- post photo please.
Can ya tell details about your ram <-- partnumbers ?

    Thanks

PS could you this to please

Press Windows key + 'R' ,typ CMD
Press and hold down CTRL + SHIFT and press ENTER.

At youre C: drive there is now a file called mb_mem_bios_info.txt post this file please !!!

    Hello,

I ran SFC /SCANNOW but found no error everytime.
I ran the chkdsk /f but no error were replorted during the scan at boot.

I did try overclocking my PC in the past but these settings are long gone and Bios was reset multiple times to its default settings.

I did set the memory profile to XMP 1 as you suggested in your last email.

    The RAM that I'm using is: G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6600 (PC5 52800).

I have attached a picture of the memory slots.

I have also attached a file containing memory and bios information as you requested.

    Thank you,

    Matt

@Froztd   Ok i did check QVL for memory support at youre MB.
The partnumber F5-6600J3440G16G is not in this QVL.
This does not mean its not compatible, but to be sure ya should contact GIGABYTE for this.

It is possible cause those partnumbers F5-6600J3440G16G arent in QVL can give issues (no stable memory run).
Did ya try to use other XMP profiles, all profiles at 6000mts or lower.
Also try without any XMP profile set.
If ya still got issues/errors, please test youre memory sticks, one by one

When installing a single memory module, we recommend that you install it in the DDR5_A2 or DDR5_B2 socket

Get 1 stick out and run system, test game only with 1 memory stick.
If ya get errors (or not) replace the stick with other one and test again to see if (this) there is a broken memory stick(s).

Ya could use a memory test tool <-- but they do not always show errors , even when stick(s) are broken/damage)

so first test with differen XMP profile (6000 mts or lower) also test with no XMP profile set.
Incase still errors test youre stick if they are faulty/broken (unstable)

    Thanks

did ya buy those 2 sticks in one box, or both in their own box ?

    Thank you again.

I will do the testing and contact Gigabyte.

For your information, I used to play Battlefield with this setup without any issue so I don't think the issue is the RAM not supported by motherboard. This said, it could be because of the XMP profile. I will get back to you when I have more information to provide.

    Cheers,

    Matt

  • If you purchased this game from steam, go into steam and then Library and select Battlefield 2042.  Perform a verification of game files.

If you see it repair 3 files, the game will run and be fine again for a while - but this problem will likely repeat.

It appears that somehow 3 files associated with the EAAntiCheat are being corrupted while playing the game.

Its been happening to me now since July 15, 2024.

The files I see this happening to are:

    "EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.exe"

    "preloader_l.dll"

    "EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.dll"

The log of corrected files will be in your "content_log.txt" in the Steam log directory.

I have repaired eaanticheat without success, I have uninstalled and reinstalled eaanticheat, uninstalled and reinstalled bf2042, verified that my system is current with all patches, updates, drivers, etc., checked and verified dxdiag is clean with no problems detected, etc.

My system is running Windows 11 Pro, Intel 14900K CPU, Nvidia 4070 TI etc.

BSOD always pointing to eaanticheat file ending in ".sys"

I've played the game since day 1 without issue, so I don't know if this is something to do with steam or eaanticheat or a combination of both.

dxdiag does show the following crash dumps:

@Sig-0Cisco I dont think those files make BSOD at youre system.
Start a new topic and post dxdiag in it please !

    Thanks

I purchased the game through the EA platform (Origin back there). I communicated with Gigabytes but received no answer so far. I have tested the memory configuration and I receive a blue screen everytime. I think I'm just going to give up on resolving this issue since it does not happen with any other game such as:

    - Call of Duty Warzone 2

    - Path of Exile

    - Diablo 4

    - Sea of Thieve

    - Counter Strike 2

    - Dota 2

    - Dragon Age 3

    - The Elder Scrolls Legends

    - Civilization VI

I appreciate all the help you've been providing and wish you all the best.

    Regards,

    Matt

@FroztdDid ya try a windows reinstall (or repair) already ?
Do ya use Intel Extreme Utility or any gigabyte center app ?

    Cheers

did ya download install all drivers from gigabyte website (also the firmware update?)
Bios update and selected any intel settings in bios ? ?

I updated everything manually from the gigabytes website. I removed one slot of ram and since then I am no longer getting the Clock_Watchdog_Timeout. Now I am getting Machine_Check_Exception

I also found this in the event viewer when I received the BSOD:

Faulting application name: GNSSsdFwD.exe, version: 24.6.19.1, time stamp: 0xc8642558
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.22621.3958, time stamp: 0xfbc3a4f6
    Exception code: 0xc000041d
    Fault offset: 0x000000000005fabc
    Faulting process id: 0x0x3498
    Faulting application start time: 0x0x1DAF9B048E7CECC
    Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\GIGABYTE\GBTSsdFirmwareUpdate\GNSSsdFwD.exe
    Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\System32\KERNELBASE.dll
    Report Id: eee6b2c7-092b-4350-b86e-9ff37241599b

I searched for the file GNSSsdFwD.exe online but could not find anything. Gigabytes replied to me at last so I sent them this last update.

    @Froztd  i found this.

    quote:
GNSSsdFwD.exe is an executable file developed by GIGA-BYTE TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. and is associated with the app "GNSSsdFwD". This file is part of the software package provided by GIGA-BYTE for their products, and is designed to update or manage the firmware for GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) devices

I wonder what hardware/software ya got installed.
I got the Gigabyte Aorus z690 ultra ddr5, but cannot find (yet) any software/driver for this GNSSsdFwD.exe.

Maybe it is an memory issue , or faulty memory that brings this issue up.
I dont no, but good to read Gigabyte and you are investigating this issue !!!

Keep us up to date please , thanks.

    Cheers

ps tha file adres/location,  its a tool to update SSD firmware
    C:\Program Files\GIGABYTE\GBTSsdFirmwareUpdate\GNSSsdFwD.exe
Any broken/faulty ssd ? did ya test ssd and try with only 1 ssd (ya probarly need to reinstall system for this)

I do see ya got 20TB HDD in youre system and only 1 SSD from 1TB
    Is ssd firmware uptodate ?
    Any RAID issues ? <- software/firmware related ?

    Edit:
This can help ya to, https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/81928-generate-system-diagnostics-report-windows-10-a.html#option3
Check for warningsin the windows when ya display the generated rapports (OPTION THREE)

  • I had a Gigabyte z690 also and i think its better that you use Gigabyte Control Center Apps to update everything, but maybe Gigabyte already told you.

It gonna do a full check of your Gigabyte product.

@SP0000kS Thank you for the headsup. In the first reply from advisor, I was told to Disable gigabyte app center from bios and to update manually from the gigabyte website which I did.

Before that, I did try to update everything from the app center but still had issues.
  • The App Center is the old one, did you try Gigabyte Control Center? I have fully delete App Center since 1 year at least.

  • More gigabyte fault to have a lot of name for this!

Sorry that i didn't help, i also have bluescreen since last update mostly everytime i close it but Hypervisor_Error.

  • Virtualisation was already Enabled in bios, Hyper Threading in auto.

I did not just update bios to F29, it's been few month i am using it. I check it really often.

It was working fine until last BF update.

Two years that i play BF2042 like an addict, the only problem i had was with audio interface that has been corrected by EA in 5 months.

    Regards,

edit: when i look into the minidump files of the bsod it was pointing to ea anticheat.

Probably something with the windows level security upgrade with lastest windows security or something like that.

  • @SP0000kS That's because the problem is their anticheat and not our systems.

This game has been having ongoing issues and BSOD's since launch day and outside of the whole i9 13900k/14900k fiasco all issues we're on their end.
  • Yes it's what i say since the beginning, its just there last update..

But you know when i had this there was no topic about it so you do the basics.

But you right i will not lose anymore time, reinstall windows or flash and reset my bios motherboard that will make it vulnerable if you dont have the last update bios.

There is no interrest from EA in this thread also.

  • @SP0000kS I will not update my BIOS just to run this game , it worked perfectly fine and no game should require a BIOS update.

They need to fix their game or we can just wait for the next battlefield while playing Delta Force , either way.

@off3nc3 What CPU do ya use ?
If it is an Intel 13th and 14th gen , then ya should update youre bios, to make sure ya cpu got a longer life time.

Those cpu's are know for instability and heat issues ! Thats is why there is a new MICRO SOFT CODE ...129 , that will be flashed into youre bios software !!!

    Cheers

PS intel confirmed issues with microcode and bios settings (out of the box, heat , voltage , wattage and amp settings).
Thats why ya should flash youre bios.
Get up to date and check why , how , and who !!!
  • @Rokebo73 I already undervolted and downclocked months ago, my system is stable and haven't had any issues/crashes since.

    Tnx for the concern.

@off3nc3 yeah i did all kind of things to lower heat, als undervolt and downclocked.
    Untill i did buy https://lian-li.com/product/galahad-ii-trinity-performance/
Then i only change PL2 and CPU core/cache to the value they should be. PL1 at Auto , PL2 at 253 , and CPU CORE/CACHE at 307.

Now P core at 5500 (2 of them at 5800) Mhz, and the E cores all at 4300.
Temps ingame +/- 70 Celcius (while temps here in house are at 27 Celcius.

I did flash bios of course to latest , but with the Intel Performance/Extreme settngs i wasnt happy enough and didnt test enough yet 🙂

    Cheers
  • Hello everyone! After a recent update the game won't open for me.It says that my game files are corupted and the game can't read them.Tried repairing/uninstaling/pc restart and also deleted all the files from documents for BF2042.Im using PC to play on.Never had this problem with the game untill now.How can I fix this?Anyone knows?

  • @Rokebo73I never had any heat issues with my specs , using a very well "air flowed" be quiet! Dark Base and iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX Liquid CPU Cooler never went above 70-73c in heavy usage games.

I had crashing issues with UE5 games all the time that's why i started tweaking , never had any BSOD's but I went the PL1 and Pl2 route @ 253 aswell and kept my clocks at x54 no issues since and no i won't bother getting their micro-code for the same settings I manually put in myself.

I won't waste anymore time tweaking this CPU , have 2 more years of warranty and I will sell this little t.urd next year and go with 15th gen hopefully will iron out all these issues , this gen was a nightmare and i want to erase it from my memory.

Anyway never had so many issues with a game in my life as I had with BF 2042.

Hopefully the next BF will we catered way better.
