@4L1P3 We don't yet know what form of anti-cheat will be present in BF2042.

    But it will have one?  (looking at you BFV)

    Just jumped off a server with 4 rage hackers so feeling a bit put off bf right now!

  • It will be just as bad as the rest of the other games ….that’s why I ain’t getting it.

    I would rather eat nails than buy more dice games infested with cheaters

    @x--Fusi--x That product is in use in other multiplayer titles, like The Division 2 and perhaps CoD I believe, but it has not been confirmed for BF2042 yet.

    Correct @ElliotLH ,

    The naming of any specific AC tool has not been called out yet...

    So no specific details yet on this subject except that DICE will rely on a mix of in-game and server side technology (like aka Fairfight).  The developers will always also need help from the community. In other words, in-game reporting tools will be available for easy reporting and removing such identified players from the game. The fact that BF2042 is not a free2play title gives me comfort though, as they are much less affected by mischievous players.

    In the Epic Games session we heard that Design Director Daniel Berlin explained the ambitious goal that EA and DICE want to keep Battlefield 2042 “...free of harassment and cheating”.And he further elaborated:  “In terms of anti-cheat, it’s important for us to say that it’s extremely important to us that our players have game sessions that are free of harassment and free of cheating.” and Daniel referred then to the EA guidelines on “Positive Play!”.  In other words, the code of conduct for players in the game to ensure pleasant and fair interactions during the gameplay.  The "Positive Play Charter” include many interesting aspects and its clear this subject has gotten very special attention by EA this time around.  The charter sets out a broad spectrum of undesirable behaviors, similar to what we know from the TOS and community guidelines of EA games. Violations can be punished with temporary account suspensions (bans), which can also be imposed permanently in repeated and particularly severe cases.  So personally I look forward to the BF2042 release and helping EA making this a success!

    @DiceUprise

    Is that even considered a safe gaming environment anymore? I honestly don't feel that way about consoles after owning a Xbox Series X. It's been nothing but a nightmare.

  • I would really keep that Xbox dude.

    The amount of cheats I am seeing on pc games is ridiculous and completely game breaking

    Conversations about cheating or anti-cheat, not something we allow on AHQ. So I will be closing down the topic.
