Re: The input delay appears to be even worse these days

@Pekmez-Pita The game has been broken for 8 months now, all those 400+ bug fixes they did was for nothing..

"no ADS" bug is back, and really never noticed mouse input issues, but on 1.0.0 everything changed.

Looking mostly horizontally like tracking enemy going up on zip line the mouse just stops working, then you need to look down and back up to some how fix it.

As for your topic goes, yes I have noticed them delays as well, like really bad ones.. for example; using Sundance and hers scatter nades when prone.

Be prone behind some small roofs chimney and you just know that your not gonna throw over it, so you stand up and throw it and then go back to prone, but here's where the delays happens.

The thrown animation happens when standing so you just go instantly back to prone, but the game only picks up throwing after delay and you're already prone and scatter nades are thrown and bounced back to you from that chimney..

And at that point I already know that I'll be just dead from my own nades.. happenned for like 4 times, and I always just give up at that point.

  • It helps me if I delete all the files in the battlefield 2042 documents folder apart from settings!

I think there’s a cache problem with the game still

A couple of other things to try:

    Modify Multimedia Class Scheduler:

Run regedit and go to the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile. Create or edit DWORD named “SystemResponsiveness” and set the hexadecimal value to 0 for pure gaming.

To prioritize games, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile\Tasks\Games and change the following registry values:

    “GPU Priority” set to "8"
    “Priority” set to "6"

Thanks for the tip! I found setting 'System Responsiveness' to 0 helpful. You can also edit these settings easily using Process Lasso. I'll share some of my Win10 performance tweaks too.

In Process Lasso Tools, all I changed here is 'System Responsiveness' to 0%. I also disabled 'Network throttling index' so none of my packet get dropped.

I set Windows NT Scheduler to short and fixed length

I always unpark my CPU cores using Process Lasso's Core Unpark program

I adjust the Windows Timers so they're perfectly in sync. This is some real secret sauce. As you can see 'Current Timer Resolution' is a perfect 0.5ms in Intelligent Standby List Cleaner. I think this makes aiming and frame times more consistent.

I don't mess with priorities or affinities, I leave them at default. I also don't mess with Windows thread boosting in Process Lasso. I just let Windows handle thread priorities and boosting at default values. Once everything is set you don't even need to run Process Lasso anymore because Windows remembers the settings. I do run Intelligent Standby List Cleaner when I game though.

This issue is present on the console version too judging by the recent reports on its sub-Reddits. Certainly on the PS5 version of the game.

Not to mention that exiting vehicles, another ancient input related issue, is still present in this game and continues to be reported by people too.

This game's continued, sorry state is due to the fact that the current iteration of Dice (Guaranteed Amateurs) are continuing to mishandle their "updated" version of the Frostbite engine. 9 months later and they're still struggling to resolve issues that were present in their "beta" client.

They should be ashamed of themselves. As should EA and their sordid share holders.
