@BackwoodsRaidersorry, apparently there are 2 AEK's to unlock...1 BF3 and 1 BFBC2...I see you must be referring to the BF3 variant which mostly likely will allow you to use either one of the guns just above or below it in the tree. But yea, they screwed up not only with that one I think also the 249saw as well?
Seems they also screwed up on having to need ribbons to unlock since that would mean it's restricted to PvP only...which should not be.
@BigShottt True. It's the first time they put a requirement like that just for unlocking weapons. I hope devs corrects / change that to allow PvE players to unlock those weapons, as well as m16a3 or m60.
Or maybe... are they going to give us normal progression for Solo/Co-op mode as well (ribbons, xp etc.)?

About the 2 different EAK unlocks....first you unlock the BFBC2 EAK...then you must use it to unlock the BF3 variant by playing a PvP BFBC2 Portal map and earn 50 kills with the unlocked AEK , as well as the ribbons.
So yea, this means you cannot unlock the BF3 AEK playing PvE. Yet another kick of sand in our PvE faces. <sigh>
Says I've unlocked the AEK-971. Where is it?
