- @Shibiwan I dunno, BF4 MAA had APS to defend itself against attack heli and scout heli. In BF2042, nightbird can solo the Wildcat with it's AGM. The IR smoke wont help because it'll be so close on it. That's just sad.
But APS would indeed make the Wildcat a too big of a annoyance to get rid of for groundforces. Too much camping Wildcats already, dont want to get it more difficult to get rid of them. Well, the Nightbird needs a nerf doesn't mean we have to give the APS to the Wildcat.
Looking at the tanks with APS and smoke, they are already pretty tough to kill with AGMs (and bombs on the stealth). You end up going back and forth wasting your AGM on the APS, then losing lock to smoke when you wait for the APS to end.Now apply that to the Wildcat, and you can see how that's going to be an issue, because it will still be shooting at you while you circle around.
- BownrInSweatPanz3 years agoSeasoned Veteran@Shibiwan Isn't this already a problem with MBTs? at least with more skilled/knowlegable players chaining APS and Thermal Smoke to prevent lockons and rockets to survive for a while.
- @BownrInSweatPanz Yes, that was what I'm referring to. Giving the same combo on the Wildcat will be even worse as they can still shred you while you're struggling to shoot at them.
the nightbird is a whole different can of worms and shouldn't have AGMs to begin with. other choppers and jets are already basically useless against the Wildcat, with the possible exception of a good stealth chopper pilot. other than that, adding APS to counter those few cases will just make it worse for the rest of them
nerf the problem maker, dont counter buff to equalize it. that just makes everything worse for anyone else
