Re: Leviathan Rising Event - Thoughts, Hit or Miss??

Huge miss. I've already spotted several blatant cheaters and DICE does nothing about it. Every time there's a new event, they come pouring back like cockroaches with the lights out.

Has nothing to do with the event.

I like the event.  I just wish people would play to win.  Ive played 5 games and I am the only one trying to disarm the lances.  Players standing next to them worry more about KD then winning.

GET RID OF THE FREAKING PERSONAL STATS BOARD.   IT CONTINUES TO KILL THE GAME

nb4 your kd sucks response....

I think I'll pass on this one 8 vs 8 is not my cup of tea.

  • I don’t like temporary modes it’s just a way to manipulate people into getting hocked on the game and 8v8 just isn’t exciting to me.

@Padding_Ur_Stats There always seems to be an influx of cheaters with each event. That's disappointing but become the norm.

Apart from that, the mode is awfully campy and people don't play the objective for the reason you've stated in giant font.

  • @NazT55 wrote:
@Padding_Ur_StatsIt was like that before when the game first came out and then everyone cried about it.

Not having a scoreboard didn't make a difference in the way people play. They still do the same kind of things they've been doing since the game released. When it comes to 8v8 or lower, folks have to be on their game. If you're dead weight and hurt your team.

  • another miss. Instead of making stuff players want they threw in another useless mode. Played a few rounds, were over in just a few minutes. Spend more time changing rounds, waiting to load, new map etc then actual gameplay.

They made this mode for the dudes crying about getting killed by vehicles.

From what I understand/have read, folks with controller may not even have a button bound by default to interact with the points/lances? [something I read on reddit, so medium grain of salt here].

And I don't think the scoreboard matters, it's been in every BF. It doesn't change how people perform, but it does help to know what people are pulling their weight for the team and who is sitting in the back with no assists, 1 kill, 17 deaths, no resupplies/spots/etc.

@Anobix That wouldn't even surprise me and if it is true how could the devs even over look that?
  • Pros

    1. No Vehicles
    2. Fast Moving Game
    3. You dont get stuck playing one side all day
    4. Good for Mission Completions
    5. Min Max Specialist Use
    6. Fast Game Procs

    C ons

    1. Net Code
    2. Min Max gun use
    3. 8v8 seems so small (but this is why you have fast game procs)
    4. Maps are very camp
    5. Scoreboard inhibits winning game strat
    6. Cheaters

Not enjoying it - maps are too large for 16 players - don't like being forced to grind on one game mode for 2 weeks to get the skins

Got all 3 in one day

@Padding_Ur_Stats I do like the quick rounds and swapping sides. I wish more modes had that like Rush and Breakthrough.

The spawns are a little weird. As an attacker, you can get to at least one of the sites and plant before the defenders show up.

Not my cup of tea but I know others enjoy it. I'd personally like to see 4 more players per side, no spotting and spawn beacons, and forcing players to spawn in on squad leader

The same could be said for all game modes

True, however new modes tend to not have the coded protections from cheating which elevates and attracts the cheater.

scoreboard hors will always be there as long as there is a scoreboard

A problem is that in order to progress through the unlockable content you need to earn ribbons, and some classes earn ribbons quicker than others.  Personally I'm playing as Blasco and Falk (with ammo) to earn ribbons quickly - but that means I'm not playing as Assault or Engineer at all.

This can be a recurring problem for BF2042 where the weekly challenges nudge the player toward a certain class, meaning every round is full of particular specialists all trying to complete the same challenge.

That aside, I like the mode.  Not everyone wants small scale game modes, but I like to have them there as an alternative to Conquest and Breakthrough, and as ever, if you don't like it, ignore it.

Any and all game modes in BF are dependent on players playing the objective, so the problems some are encountering aren't limited to this one.  There's not a lot you can do about a squad mate that insists on sitting back sniping or just throwing Caspers drone into the air to pick up easy XP

As for cheats, I'm assuming this is about PC players?

    Completely disagree!!!!

I don't play for my KD ratio.  I regularly run as support and do just that.  Make sure my team has ammo, they are healed and revived.

BUT, I still am glad they added the scoreboard back and do look at it. Without the score board it makes the game feel like everyone is going for a participation trophy.

What we need is more access to back-end data like BF4 so we can see who's hacking.  I don't trust EAs report system.  Some hacks are obvious and some are not.

@ABC-Warrior-real I get what youre saying. However, Missions are designed to steer players. Since the major change in specialists, the Missions have been steering us to teamwork style play. In this current map there are no vehicles, so engineers are limited in what they can offer.

This is a drawback with the changes they made. Any game mode that eliminates vehicles pretty much eliminates most of the engineers. Some will play Lis to hunt snipers, but overall, most people will not be enticed to play them.
