First thing they need to do is clean up the netcode and balance lag compensation better. I'm not an expert or anything on that subject, but as a life long FPS player you can definitely tell when something is way off.

I don't want to discredit you and it's annoying when people say they've played for so many hours and haven't seen a cheater. Not all cheaters are completely blatant. If a decent player or even a very good player are cheating, they can mask it pretty well. Cheating is also a multi-million dollar industry, so people are supporting that and buying cheats. Just a sad fact. I totally believe there is a part of the player base cheating in BF2042, I just think it's incredibly hard, at least for the player, to tell if its cheating that's got out of hand or maybe just really bad netcode.

What's happening is on your screen you're not seeing the person peek until they kill you, which is sometimes called "peekers advantage". You're sitting there waiting for them to round a corner, when they finally do, you die in one tick update. What they saw is you just standing there, hesitating, start shooting you, and maybe you hit them back with a bullet or two. The other issue is that damage isn't getting updated correctly. They take some damage, but the server is cross checking it, they take only half the damage you visually saw because the server decided they won the gun fight, therefor you shouldn't have been able to inflict that damage after you died.

    Gotcha, I thought you were talking specifically about wall hackers and not an exploit. I've been seeing that one from time to time now too. I accidentally spawned on a teammate outside of the map. Didn't seem like you could do much when in there. Besides maybe putting down an indestructible tugs or something.

    • Season 6 is absolutely infested with obvious wallhacks and aimbots.
    • Console aim assist is OP. (unless console players are also cheating)
    • Shotgun META is absurd.
    • Lag compensation is disadvantageous for the lowest ping players. Superbullets are common.
    • TTD is 1/10th of TTK. Not even close to parity.

    I have 25 years experience in FPS shooters, and this is by far the worst and most obvious cheating problem I have seen. IMO, they need to actually get rid of the cheaters, and run ping restricted servers to mitigate some of the issues with mixing low and high pings in the same lobbies. Lag compensation with deltas of >150ms will never work.

    @afzSnickelfritz Hi - agree on most - the cross play thing is the worst invention ever - mixing worlds like that is crazy ! I will not say there is no cheating going on - just highlight that a lot of things can reveal your location - even through smoke... Paik scanner works through walls - all Paik shoots and hits is shown on map. All that shoots Rao is shown on map - then there is sentry guns, we have the jammer from Blasco - we have those red blinking nades that reveals - people can ping enemy even dead ones can ping danger - you are constantly being shown on map !!
    And yes the better ping you have the worse penalty you get. Normally it should be like the better gear you have the better play you will get - but oh no - not here.
    Shotguns - yep they got a massive buff this time - perhaps over the top - before season 6 the 880 shotgun was useless.
    In old days with BF3 and 4 we had ping limits on servers - who knows what ping limits we have now.
    In BF5 I have seen players on Europe servers with 400-500 ms ping ha ha ha - impossible to play on those ones.

    Regarding cheating - all we can do is report them !

    If they are being reported by the thousands how would Dice ever properly vet them all? Do they actually have kill cam footage? Or is reporting basically useless?

    tbh I would love to have kill cam footage to better figure out if it was legit or not. Would also reduce useless reports.

    I have this cool idea I want to call it “Battle recorder” basically replays all the sever data trough the engine and you see what happend from any angle, genius. Even get free marketing with all the cool video’s

    @doubleome I have done 23 reports in the last week or so and can say that only a few still remain.

    Sadly people need to report the more done during the game the greater the chance of them being bananaed sooner than later.

    @RaginSam There is an exploit if you put x in a certain position in a certain hall way you can float between two hallways without being detected and still get kills.

    Only piak and her scanner will pick you up or a sensor beacon, but once x is destroyed you cant do it any further.
