Using kinect while playing dead space 3 singleplayer

so i played the demo for dead space 3 on my xbox and i really like the kinect commands(option). and i bought the game, only problem is that i cant use my kinect to issue commands. in the settings menu it says kinect commands but i cant toggle the option at all.. any help would be great.. thank you
