I have this same issue. Purchased the DVD game from Amazon as I have a monthly internet cap so purchase the on disk version vs downloads.
How does one get it into Origin? I have a PC at the home and a PC at another location. I have a feeling if I can not get it installed in Origin I will be limited to the one PC, rather have it on both as I travel between the two for long periods of time.

So long as you are logging in with the same Origin account you can play on more than one machine.
Please see this link for info on using your Product Code in Origin: http://help.ea.com/en/article/redeem-your-serial-code-in-origin/

I would think so if it actualy was installed in Origin but it is not. It is not recognized and is played as an attached game. I can launch and play the game with out being signed into Origin.
I uninstalled the game and unvalidated the code and tried to launch it in Origin and it comes up as already used.
Other games I have and installed via disk attached into Origin with no issue. They are Crysis 3, Dead Space 3, Need for speed The Run and Dragon Age Inquisition. Dead Space 2 is the odd duck.
I plan to try re-installing Dead Space 2 today while being logged into Origin and see if that works.
Hi
I purchased Dead Space from a local game store. The fine print says you need an EA Account.
I have the same problem with Dragon Age Origins Collectors Edition, in the fine print this one requires EA Online Account. This game came with codes for Downloadable content:
Three Items - Bergen's Honor - Final Reason - Grimoire of the Frozen Wastes
Fury of Shale
Blood Dragon Armor (This also gives this armor in Mass Effect 2)
When entering the code for the armor I got a message 'this code can only be redeemed once' or something like that. Am I able to get this armor after reinstalling the game as I have on this new machine? When upgrading to Windows 8 from Windows XP I had to perform a clean install of Windows 8 and had to reinstall all my software updating to Windows 8 versions as I went.

Update:
Dragon Age Origins is now in my Origin game list. I followed advice in this tread about redeeming the code through Origin.
Dead Space 2 and the extra's from Dragon Age Origins still come up as 'all ready redeemed'. I assume this is because they were redeemed through EA accounts.
Am I able to access my EA account through Origin so I can get the extra's in the current installation?
