Re: Why does the EA app not have a Gift option?

Hey @SecondSkratch,

Right now, the EA app doesn't have a way to send gifts. But, we've heard your suggestions about adding this and have passed them on.

Just because the app doesn't have this feature yet doesn't mean it's broken, it just means there's room to make it better. The steps to fix something and add new things are different.

We really appreciate your feedback.

Edit: rewritten post to better explain reasoning.

"If something is not broken, it does not need to be fixed." this can only come from someone who does not use the launcher, to begin with.

So many features that we loved in Origin have been axed from this new EA Play advertisement billboard wannabe launcher, it's actually hilarious.

This can't be broken because we killed it💀

I used to buy games here instead of other platforms due to how good of an experience it was, but now you can't even send a gift to a friend. Jeepers

Now it's just used to start the game from a different platform.

origin was so much better 😂

  • Right, it's "working as intended" because they don't want EA Play people gifting their discounted games to people anymore.  What a bunch of nonsense.

  • Hey @EA_Leeuw,

There's actually something that's broken. It still hasn't been fixed. Origin had a feature that the EA app does not, and there's no way to work around it.

It's great that the feedback has been forwarded. Maybe it's time for some results.

@EA_Leeuw Here it is, December and prime gift-giving season, and there is still no possible way (Sorry, gift cards mean NO possible way because nobody wants to receive a gift card and nobody wants to give one, as they are LAME) to gift a game to someone. I hope EA understands that they're killing their own game, just like they did with SimCIty. With so many alternatives set to be released in 2024 and soon thereafter, the community be leaving The Sims ASAP, and it will become just another footnote in history. Way to commit corporate suicide, EA.
