Yet ANOTHER EA APP Issue - Oh LAWD!!!
Greetings - I tend to not say too much because it interferes with my inner peace. However, this one needs my voice. This is something that has been happening recently that also needs to be fixed. Time Limit Controls: My "Playtime Controls" are set to Unlimited for both Weekdays and Weekends. Also, My internet is unlimited so there are no issues on that front. In addition, my son is a grown adult and does not play any EA games (i.e. Family Playtime is of no consequence and never used.) I am a grown adult. I set the EA App and Game to settings that suit my gameplay. I do not need anyone to tell me "it's time to stop playing so we're going to exit you out of your game." As an adult well within in her 60s, this is an insult to my intelligence and independence. My parents are both dead. (I took care of my mother until she passed away.) My grandparents are all dead. I've lived outside of my parents home for over 45 years, meeting my own obligations without one iota of assistance from EA/MAXIS. Now, if EA/MAXIS wants to make those types of decision as it relates to my time, than I will happily accept a monthly check in the amount of $5,000 to cover my bills and expenses. (Ha, ha, ha. I'm actually not for sale.) Seriously, EA/MAXIS, please don't confuse adults with children who should not be playing this adult game in the first place. EA/MAXIS knows who is under 18 and who is not. No adult should be treated as a child because children are present. Adults do not need EA/MAXIS supervision. At least I do not. I was raised me well. If this is posted in the incorrect location, please forgive. None the less, I am sooooo frustrated!!! I am an intelligent person. I have also programmed. I ALWAYS TURN OFF ALL Game updates in the EA App as I did with Origin. If I have UPDATES TURNED OFF, WHY does EA think they should turn it back on? WHY is EA forcing me to update my game without my permission? Especially after specifically stating that I DO NOT want to update, because ALL Update options are turned off. What I've noticed is EA will force the App to close and then when I sign back in, it automatically forces the game to update. What is interesting is the other items I turned off, remain turned off. Yet the "Update Games Automatically" and "Install Updates Automatically" are turned on. This is NOT the first time, ... this is not the FOURTH time. ... And it really is unacceptable. EA has not ever (past, present and/or future) gift(ed) me anything as it relates to The Sims Franchise. I purchased every EA/MAXIS Sims Base and DLC item I own starting with the game in 2000. I play The Sims out of enjoyment not obligation. However, every time this happens, my enjoyment is drastically curtailed. Hopefully someone with authority, who cares, at EA/MAXIS will look into this and fix/remove the unnecessary intrusion. Again, if this is posted in the incorrect location, please forgive. Hello, I'm opening this thread to let you know that it is incredible that in 2025 there is still no button to allow players to locate installed games like we were able to do with the Origin App. There are thousands of threads on this forum about players unable to select a folder where the game is already installed, forcing them to install the game again. I asked this question to a EA support agent and they indicated they do not have an option as of now. But I think this should be implemented. Let me start by saying I love the SIMS and have been playing since the beginning. I've played all iterations, The Sims, Sims 2, MySims Wii, Sims Mobile, Sims City, Sims 3 Wii & PC and now Sims 4 & MySims on PC. I am also not one of those fly-by-nights who have recently decided to no longer play. Thank you for the Sims which has seen me through many ups and downs, including family tragedies, cancer cocktails and survival. So What Happened this time? While on-line, the EA App said I had no programs installed. Yet, when off-line, I am able to open my programs. This tells me something is broken with the EA App. And 'No" it is not my internet connection. . . I am immediately writing this message and submitting it On-Line. That being said, I find the issues with the EA App unacceptable. There were no constant issues like this with Origin. YouTube doesn't have these problems and it is a much bigger platform. Google & G-Mail do not have these problems, also much larger and widely used platforms. What is it about the EA App that make it sooo unstable? These are only questions that will hopefully be answered while I'm still on the planet. Please do not send me any cookie cutter responses. Instead provide cognitive clarity and fixes. Hi! I love The Sims 4 and used to play it on Windows, but I now have a Chromebook for school. A ChromeOS version or official cloud-play option would help a lot of students who can’t use Windows or Mac. I know I’m not the only one who’d play if it were available. I’ve been playing on EA for a couple months now and I get trouble after trouble continuously. From Anti-Cheat failed updates and me having to do them manually, to constant sign outs, to failed game launches, and all the way to one of my game’s progress reset. I sometimes get errors saying that the game is downloaded in my device but belongs to another user so I can’t launch the game??? Or when it logs me off the account and I plug in my credentials it says that it either doesn’t match or it’s expired, when it in fact hasn’t. EA has to fix all of the above issues. When I apply for support, it literally doesn’t help at all. Please do something about it. If you’ve read all my rant about EA, thank you for ur time. I use EA app on multiple computers depending on where I'm at, it constantly forces me to offline mode. It's annoying and causes me issues. People should be able to get a refund on packs but you get ea points to get something else from the ea app. I have a few packs that i regret buying but i cant get my money back because i bought the packs a long time ago. Leaving this here in the feedback section as I have already requested help for this issue from EA support and have been unable to reach a resolution. I recently tried to download and install The Sims: Medieval from my EA Play library. This is a game that I purchased almost 15 years ago and originally redeemed and installed on my Origin account before the migration over to the new app. Upon trying to download it, I recieved the following error: "You don't have access. We've cancelled the download because you don't own this game. To play, go to the Game Hub to get the game." This is despite the fact that the game is listed in my library and my app itself states "Standard Edition owned" - how can I not own the game when the app is telling me I own it? I spoke to support and was told that despite still having my original disc, case and redemption code - which the support agent confirmed was indeed linked to my account - they would be unable to give me access to the game and I would have to contact the original retailer for proof of purchase. After so many years, do they really think this is a reasonable request to make? The retailer I purchased from no longer exists. Surely the fact that I still have my physical copy should be proof enough? I'm really disappointed and frankly angry about this and will be taking it further. Just wanted to put this out here for anyone else who is having a similar issue. For a company that made a launcher to fit your game, you guys have no idea how to actually make a launcher and need to go back to basic's. The fact you can't fully close the app, and have to force close it through your desktop taskbar is incredibly dumb with no way to turn it off?? are you guys stuck in the past? time to catch up ! were not in 2012 anymore. Secondly forcing user's to sign in every. Single. Time. to your app is probably one of the most frustrating things about it. EVEN WHEN we have "KEEP SIGNED IN " TAGGED. Your stupid program logs us out, and completely wipes everything, like its an old timer with dementia...that we **bleep** hate and have to CONSTANTLY remind him. Whoever created the app needs to understand. WE DO NOT. CARE. FOR THIS NEW LOOK YOU MADE ON YOUR APP. "MODERNIZED" IS TERRIBLE. No one likes this **bleep** except for house buying and room renovation. NOT FOR A GAMING APP. I don't care if I have to sign in to your app, just let me do it ONCE. SO I CAN NOT HAVE TO DO IT EVERY TIME I LAUNCH ONE OF YOUR GAMES. You actively push me away from being interested in anything you guys do when you're main platform is so buggy and broken I feel better jumping down the stairs then loading up your program. Your "support" is also a terrible joke, for a company that PRAISES its support for players, I have had better support from a drive thru window then ive had with you guys.
