Re: EA games bought on Steam Won't start with EA app

I downloaded the new EA app and tried to launch the Sims 4 from Steam, it made me redownload Origin (EA app uninstalled it for me when app downloaded). Any ideas if Steam will always require Origin, or once Origin is gone, should Steam automatically locate the new launcher?

I know this may be a question I need to put forth to Steam but it doesn't hurt to start here before emailing someone there that won't answer.

@sabcrews  I would expect that Steam will be made compatible with the EA App before Origin is officially retired, but I haven't seen any announcements about a timeline.

@7b2re21l2u6k   EA Desktop is officially out of beta and open to all for download. The functions of Origin will be (has been) merged (sometimes painfully) into the new EA Desktop app. About the same time as this announcement about the Desktop app EA announced the Sims 4 base game will be free to download. I think this in affect now but I have yet to confirm this. Also an announcement about the release of Sim 5 MAY be forth coming soon. October 12 we may see Intel Arc A series video cards available. I understand the cards look good but the drivers needs some work. I've yet to see any prices. More news! The Last Of Us the movie is finished filming. The remake of The Last Of Us part 1 has confirmed a pc release.for you users that don't own a Play Station 5. Naughty Dog is currently overseeing the recent re-release of the game but said the pc release is closer then ever.
