in your ea/thesims3 is a downloads folder with all your store items and or downloaded sims/lots/free items/reg itmes from the exchange i have that folder copied twice to different usb devices one a thumb/flash drive the other a portable harddrive just anytime you buy or get something new and install it make a fresh copy of the downloads folder some months back i had to reinstall my games all i had to do was open my backed up downloads folder install my store items that way saves all that time and  trouble of downloading from the site
