Re: Forgot Sims 3 Password and Links are Outdated
@rozerbud You'd use the same password in the Sims 3 launcher as on any EA site, provided the game itself is registered to your EA account. (I have no trouble signing in through the launcher with my EA password, and I've seen no reports that indicate this feature has broken overall.) However, the launcher doesn't accept some special characters, for example & or !, so that could be preventing the login from working.
Sims 3 is not one of the games that forces a link between EA and Steam accounts. What you could try is going to ea.com and signing in with your Steam credentials; just click the Steam logo and enter your username and password. Since your accounts are not already linked, you may be prompted to go through the process... or it might not work at all; I haven't seen any info either way in a while.
Sims 4 does support, and in fact requires, account linking, and the base game is free. So you could add it to your Steam library, install it, and launch it, which would initiate the linking process. Then you could uninstall it again and even remove it from your Steam library if you wish.
