Re: AI speed insanely fast at Silverstone career mode

@IanM282 What upgrades are you focusing on. I focus on weight reduction and drag. Just done Monza. 3rd in team rankings. Top on chassis and 3rd on aero. Last on Power train. Was leading with Max behind me. Even with DRS he couldn’t get enough over speed to pass me on straights.

@ScarDuck14In the Ferrari and main focus is improving the chassis as it’s a particular weakness on the Ferrari. Managed to win most races and several podiums so far (apart from Baku which is ridiculous for reasons we both well know).

Never had a problem at Silverstone before, probably my strongest track to be fair. Put it on pole by over a second and was absolutely swamped by pretty much the top 8 by lap 7. Impossible mate. It’s like they have permanent ERS.

I remember the same issue at Silverstone on either 21 or 22 and it was patched.

Normal GP mode is fine, but career is ridiculous!

@IanM282 On 21 it was the Ai speed through fast twistys.

This year they are slow through the corners so i keep that in mind when I setup car. So drop rear wing and rely on rear mechanical grip when exiting slower corners.

That said Silverstone is a strong track for me. So hard to help.

Will say if you’re using time trial setups. I’ve noticed they tend to have softer front ARBs and Suspension. All the top times are almost definitely by wheel players. So that being the case. Any TT setup if using pad I’d increase front stiffness by a couple of clicks at least.

@ScarDuck14 Many thanks. Yeah tried all different types of suspension settings from soft to stiff and in between.

For me from what I’ve experienced it’s the straight line speed in Career mode only at Silverstone.

I edge away a few tenths through the likes of Copse, Maggots Beckett’s and Stowe.

I’m not exactly running to much wing as well. I think from memory I’ve got it set at 18/20.

I may have to take another look as no one else seems to have experienced it.

Like I’ve said Silverstone is probably my strongest track including when I raced for many years with several teams on Geoff Crammonds GP series back in the day.

@IanM282 Spent many many hours playing OG Grand Prix using a joystick with one button. Was one of those moments where racing games become something more. Although was a pain as they didn’t have official teams and drivers, going into the menus and changing all the team and driver names 😁

I always pause and replay so I can check Ai top speed and ERS usage and only time they catch me on the straights is if they deploy ERS down most off the straight. Generally they just deploy ers for half second out off most corners. Except first couple off laps in and out laps then last 2 laps
