Controller calibration same settings, different feel ps4 vs ps5 controller

I am getting really frustrated with both the game and the garbage ps5 controller, so maybe someone here can help...

I am playing on PC, I used the ps4 controller for f1 2020 and never had any issues, however for 23, I just can't get the calibration for steering right, if it's below 140 I literally can't make some of the turns in jeddah, if I go above the car is uncontrollable. So I tried the ps5 controller and the steering was fine on 120, however the haptic feedback on the triggers is driving me crazy, It is stopping me from break or accelerate properly due to having the counter pressure to my fingers, WHO PROGRAMMES THIS, LIKE SERIOUSLY?

But here is the thing I do not understand, I checked the calibration, I made it the EXACT same for both controllers, steering rate, linearity, maximum wheel turn etc. but it is completely different. 120 on the ps5 one is fine, 120 on the ps4 one is not turning properly??? This makes 0 sense.
(ps4 controller is connected with bluetooth and ds4windows, ps5 is connected with cable if it matters)

So If someone could tell me how to have proper vibrations but 0 haptic feedback on the ps5 controller, or why does the steering turn to * on the ps4 controller with the same settings I would really appreciate it.

DS4Windows by default works by emulating a Xbox controller as far as I recall. It remaps the inputs you give to your Dualsense 4 by emulating the Xbox pad and tricks the PC into thinking it is the latter.

Dualshock 4 and the Dualsense are different controllers with different components.

Considering those two points above, I would never expect settings to feel 1:1 the same when swapping the two back and forth.

Have you considered making two controller profiles in the game?

Anyway, can't see a way out of this that not goes through experimentation.

I have a fine wheel alright, but I rarely bother setting up my rig just to play F1 as the FFB isn't that great and it is way more enjoyable on a controller. Always liked it on my PS4, and came to love it with the PS5. I can't say if the Steam/PC native support feels the same as playing with the Dualsense on the console, but if it does it is 100% worth it in my opinion.

I know it emulates the xbox controller, but I thought the joysticks are similar, seems like I was wrong. I will just try to use the ds4 with a usb -seems like I only need the ds4windows app when I connect with a bluetooth- that might probably be the best solution to get the good steering and no haptic feedback.

    Thank you!
