@EA_rephii thanks for the planned patch, but what about the fps drops encountered during rainy sessions and whenever the smoke effect is visible? And there are also heavy visual bugs seen in night races and wet weather.
Are all these issues caused by the same bug and therefore will be solved by a single patch addressing mainly the night races?
Thats good news!
In the meantime, I was having a little trouble with frame rate drops on Silverstone and I thought "I can solve this Old School style" and went into my Nvidia settings to do some old school tweaks that used to just be standard practice back in the day to boost your FPS a little.
I did all the tweaks and gained 50 fps along the Silerstone start/finish straight, thought "my god! I may have solved my night race issue too!!!!"
Loaded up Bahrain at night, still only getting 30-36fps!!!! Dammit! It was smoother though, it was almost playable.
For those interested in the tweaks, open Nvidia control panel and go to:
Adjust IMage Settings: Use My Preference Emphasising - Set to Performance. Hit Apply.
Manage 3D Settings:
Turn everything off that can be turned off except threaded optimization
Power management mode: Prefer Max perf
Texture filtering - Quality: High Perf
You might want to go across to Program settings and make sure the tweaks are put specifically on for F1 23 as sometimes the game manages to override them somehow.
I also get this issue on my Xbox Series X but instead of night time, it is when it is raining or when there is smoke or fog etc. It happens to me after I flashback and for about 5 seconds then it’s fine.
