Some of these steps may be more effective than others but all should be attempted, thanks.

1. Download and install all available Windows Updates
2. Turn off the EA app overlay via the three bar menu at top left, Settings, Application, In-game overlay
3. Clear the EA app cache: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
4. In the EA app, click on the game and then Manage, Repair
5. Make sure your display is connected to your GPU and not the motherboard video output
6. Run System File Checker to help ensure the integrity of your Windows System files: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
7. Perform a clean boot before starting: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 or http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
