So I originally bought the standard version of f122 on my ps4 and then upgraded it with the champion edition pack. Now I recently got a ps5 and I don't know if I can or how to upgrade my ps4 version to the ps5 version. any help would be amazing thank you
but I have the champion edition addon and when I go to buy the champion edition of the game of the ps store it says its unavailable because I already own it

I'm afraid I don't believe that the upgrade via the 'Champions Content Bundle' provided dual entitlement. It isn't stated that it does on the PlayStation Store. If you really want the PS5 version of F1 22 I think you'd have to buy one, which won't but super-expensive at this point. Personally I'd suggest saving the money towards F1 23 at some point in the future instead though.
