Re: Where is the safety car?

Yes there are no SC or VSC.

Just do not play this garbage called F1 22.

Do not waste your time.

This is my advise.

To increase the chance of seeing a Safety car.  Set damage and damage rate to simulation. Corner cutting to  Strict and higher the ai difficulty more chance the ai will crash

As (non-intended) tradition dictates, the safety car experience varies a lot from player to player. Discussions like this always pop up since I've been into the franchise. For what it's worth, I've always had a good incidence of SC and VSC – F1 2019, F1 2020, F1 2021 and F1 22, all on PS4 or PS5 as of the latter.

As @ScarDuck14 mentioned, those settings usually increase the frequency of safety cars. Solid tip from him, as is tradition – in a good sense, this time!

@IzzyWizzyBeeBoo Also I suggest deleting your current save and restarting.

The game doesn’t seem to always apply setting changes during a career.

@IzzyWizzyBeeBooVery first Race since I replied to your post at Monza

Thought I’d share this picture (Below) off race director. . Where I Had 2 safety cars. So far this season I’ve had 10ish safety cars.

Also think I forgot to also mention the longer the race the more time for accidents. I always do 50% distance.

  • @ScarDuck14 Nice, I did 50% race at Australia, the only change I made to match the suggestions made was to up the damage to simulation. Two AI retired, I didn’t get a safety car though, but trashed my underfloor on the curbs with damage set to simulation 🤦🏻‍♂️

On to Imola today, hopefully I may see some safety cars

@IzzyWizzyBeeBoo I wish I could say exactly how to get the safety car to appear more often that is closer to real F1. But I can only go buy what I’ve seen and experienced myself. I am however confident no one has started as many my team careers as me. And I’ve done every variation of settings(i do love playing around with them) but for whatever reason. Changing settings during a career only seems to ever effects us humans. And never seems to affect the game. Alot of events are scripted and I believe they are applied at the start of a new game.

@IzzyWizzyBeeBoo Safety car loves it at Imola, Especially during the sprint race. Don’t think I’ve ever made it through the sprint without one.

Even last years game carnage was the way off the Ai at imola

@c6184a9788e47071 Read the third post in this thread. As for ai. Just set it as high as you can. If your team performance ranking is 5th make sure you set the ai difficulty so the 4 teams drivers above you are consistently quicker than you
  • ScarDuck, I play CAREER MODE not MY TEAM MODE. And in CAREER MODE the SC disappeared after which patch I dont know.

Thank You, you are so polite.

@c6184a9788e47071 At some point they nerfed the amount and effect off damage the Ai received. As too many ai cars would crash out during any race, frequently 5 or more. Increasing ai difficulty is will increase the speed gap between the top and bottom teams. Which increases the likelihood of a faster car crashing into a slower car when attempting an overtake

@c6184a9788e47071  hi, all I changed was the damage from ‘standard’ to ‘simulation’

I have changed it back now though as I’m a bad driver and keep destroying the floor of the car in the curbs.

I play My Team career, My other settings are:

    • all assists off except traction control on medium

    • player faults standard

    • AI 60, damage standard, collisions on, pit lane tyre sim on

    • corner cutting regular, safety car increased, experience immersive

@IzzyWizzyBeeBoo Setting damage to standard will stop you from receiving floor damage. But You should keep damage rate at simulation. As ai cars are pretty much indestructible when set to standard
