Re: Can't change tyre allocation set after 1st Race of new season

I don't think it's a bug, but a predefined tire allocation after the first race

  • Uh? How is it not a bug? You do know teams don't use the same tyre allocation strategy in every race, right?

Have you seen the last 2 Grand Prix? Most teams in Austin made the choice to have 2 Mediums and 2 Hards available for the race due to high tyre degradation (Mercedes for example had 2 Mediums and 1 Hard), while in Mexico some teams actually only had 1 Medium and 1 Hard (which is the minimum).

How are we supposed to make such choices if the tyre allocation is locked after the first race?!

Summarize your bug The player can't choose the tyre allocation after the first race of a new season (or 2nd season in a new save) in Driver Career/My Team. The allocation that was selected in the first race is then fixed for every race afterwards. This prevents the player from making allocation choices based on the race weekend. This bug also fixes a tyre allocation that might not be adequate for some races. In Grand Prix Mode (with more than one race selected) this bug doesn't happen, as every race allows a different allocation.
What is your 16 digit Report Code? -
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Driver Career
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Did you have cross-play enabled? No
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? After selecting one of the tyre allocations for the first race, this same tyre allocation is then set as "fixed" for the next race (and every race after).
What happens when the bug occurs? The player can't select a tyre allocation from race #2 onwards, as the chosen allocation from race #1 is fixed for the season.
What do you expect to see? Every race weekend should allow the player to select a tyre allocation; there shouldn't be a single allocation for the whole season.

The teams in all races use different sets of tyres depending on wear rate of the tyre to the track, this clearly doesn’t do what the patch notes says it does. This is clearly a career mode/MyTeam issue exclusively as it doesn’t occur in Grand Prix mode. I expect to be able to do what I like with the three settings on all races and not be forced into one setting for the entire season.
