This has happened to me as well on Both Madden 19 and Madden 20. your salary cap remaining is the same on all screens except for when you are negotiating with an existing player, which seems to give you much less space. This therefore makes it difficult to re sign your own players. I can cope with trading out my lesser players, but not my bigger ones. It took down my Eagles save on Madden 19 before I realised it was a bug. many of my fringe players left because I couldn't re sign them. it said I was tight on cap, so I traded out Nick Foles for Mitch Trubisky, which saved about 8 million dollars on cap but I still didn't have any more cap room on the contracts screen than I had before I did this. thus I had to move on to a different team because I couldn't re sign anyone even after I had had two brilliant seasons and was really enjoying the save. The same has happened with my Chiefs on Madden 20, so I have had to turn the salary cap off on this occasion, because I can't not have the ability to re sign players. It needs to be EA's top priority to fix this, to ensure that the salary cap remaining is equal on all screens. Not wildly different when offering a player a contract, because this completely destroys the realism of franchise mode. I can't understand how salary cap remaining could be one thing when trading for a player and something else entirely, when offering a contract or why trading a big player out doesn't give you any more room
