Re: ME2 Blood Dragon Armor Female Visor Missing

I don't even know how you did that, but it makes sense. Now if only there was a way to manually change it

    I'm a texture modder. 😉

    Unfortunately I'm not familiar enough with ME models to create a mod that would at least temporarily fix this issue (while we wait for a patch).

    @Refined_Cobalt

    It is not that complicated.

    After what @sundance31us said about the Model I had a look at the files myself and noticed that there are 3 different Meshes of the Armor in the game files.

    So I replaced the Mesh that is used with another one. (I could not use the "Remastered" version it had too many bones, but the second version worked and I see no difference to the Mesh that is used.

    Care to try?

    Yes, please.

    Edit Note: The only models I've messed with were from Bethesda games. Though I have made a rather pathetic donut in Blender.

    @Refined_Cobalt  @sundance31us

    I published a mod at the Nexus so doing this by hand is not longer necessary.
    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mass-Effect-Legendary-Edition/INFORMATION-Common-Game-Fixing-Mods-Hero-Approved-MELE/m-p/10538362#M11696

    If you don't have it already, go to the Nexus and download the "ME3Tweaks Mod Manager" found in this post.

    • Run the "ME3Tweaks Mod Manager" > Tools > Click on "Legendary Explorer (Stable)".
      (This will install and open the "Legendary Explorer".)
    • In the Legendary Explorer > click on "Utilities" > Asset Database.
    • Click on "Database" in the Asset Database menu > choose LE2 > Confirm the creation of the DB.
    • In the Asset Database search for: "HMF_ARM_SHP_DA_R" > Right click on "HMF_ARM_SHP_DA_R" > Open in Meshplorer.
      HMF not HMM
    • In Meshplorer right click in on "709 HMF_ARM_SHP_FBDa_MDL_old" > Export Mesh to UDK > save the UDK to a place of your choice.
    • Click on "706 HMF_ARM_SHP_FBDa_MDL"
      If you zoom to the Visor you should see the screws that aren't suppose to be there.
      (Mouse wheel to Zoom, Middle mouse button to move the picture.)
    • Right click "706 HMF_ARM_SHP_FBDa_MDL" > Replace Mesh from UDK > Navigate to where you saved the "709 HMF_ARM_SHP_FBDa_MDL_old" UDK on your Computer > Select the UDK > Open > Click on the Drop down menu beneath "Select Skeleton Mesh to import" > Select "HMF_ARM_SHP_FBDa_MDL_Old" > Click OK.
      (Now you should see that the screws are gone.)
    • Click on "File" (Meshplorer menu) > Save.

    That's it.

    Edited so that nobody needs to download a file from the internet but can use the original game files.

    Sorry, forgot about that.

    I kept looking at the Array Elements trying to figure out which one was looking at the wrong file. Had both the male and female models up trying to compare them, but I wasn't able to figure it out.

    Yes, I did that too, but couldn't find the culprit either.
    Still relearning many stuff from the old days. 😉

    Same here. Think I've broken something everyday....yesterday it was the Ajax armor (modded into ME2). LOL Had it looking like a glow stick.

    Sorry for such a late reply. I just got to thinking about that a few days ago and thought I'd google it, then I found your mod. I'm glad to see it's been made easier for people to do it themselves. Unfortunate about console users though. I'm still befuddled that this issue still exists in the game.
