No, all the rosters do is update the players and teams when a player is traded or to adjust their game preformance to match their real life preformance.

But when I go to my season i have going already the rosters are still the same. The rosters are updated in the main menu of the game but once i enter the season mode the lines are all the same and guys I know are gone from the update are stil on my team, like V. Stalberg on the Blackhawks who should be on Nashville. I deleted my season file to start a new season with the correct rosters but I would hope any other roster updates woudl apply to my team in the season mode...
That won't work.
Imagine you started your season with Blackhawks and Stalberg.
You trade him for another player with Stars for example.
You then update your roster and Stalberg is moved to Preds. What happens to the trade you made earlier? Will Stars just lose Stalberg and you can keep your traded player?
Trade values and overall skills may change with roster updates too, so nah. Won't work
