@EA_Aljoone thing I want to clarify is there are two scenarios.
Scenario1: there will be a shot, and a rebound, and I am holding LT. I am in position (in my opinion) to attempt a shot on the rebound. So I do not spam UP on the R-Stick. I press it one time. But I end up not attempting a shot, and taking a penalty. Maybe this is because the goalie covers the puck right before i press up. This should be a whiff animation (or I whack the goalie's glove which would be nice touch-- possible fight prompt if you do it twice?)
Scenario 2: I attempt a stride deke, and then want to immediately shoot out of the deke. I get bumped or poked, and I lose possession of the puck as I am simultaneously pressing UP on the R-Stick. My players attempts a check and I take a penalty.
These two scenarios (and similar variations) need to be fixed.
Thanks. - EA_Aljo2 years ago

Yes. There are other scenarios as well. It's pretty much anytime you're trying to shoot a loose puck. Very frustrating for sure. I've been pretty vocal about this and sent over the feedback on it as well.
- NeonSkyline212 years agoSeasoned Ace@EA_Aljo In previous games, if I'm not mistaken, holding L2 in the offensive zone disabled an attacking player's ability to hit. Why is this not able to be replicated anymore?

I wanted to put in another example of this as it definitely punishes you for trying to make a push to the net.
Here is my video from a game today.

Thanks, but we really don't need any more examples of this. It's a well known issue and it's not been an easy one to address as it can cause bigger problems. Hopefully, it'll be resolved in future games. If I could fix just one thing in 24, it would be this. Today alone I've had 3 penalties because of it. All in one game. To say it's frustrating is an understatement.
It's been impossible to try and stuff a rebound around the net for years. You'll just whiff on it or try to hit.

I see rebounds getting put back in almost every game. It's far from impossible. Even with the interference issue.
- @EA_Aljo Not in close. You see them when it bounces to someone, but loose pucks sitting in front of the goalie get picked up and stuffed into pads. Other times your guy will skate in back up try to slap it. You don't get loose pucks in the crease with a quick tap to it like an nhler would do. The sport this game is based on.

I don't recall this being so much of an issue in previous years like it is in 24. Not saying you're wrong though.

It's always been an issue a scrum in front of the net like in the Boston Maple Leafs game tonight where they kept hitting the puck trying to stuff it in the net by getting quick shots on it is impossible. It's been an issue for years, players will just not even try to tap it. They try and gather possession of it, or take a hit.
In goes into how puck possession works in the game, so I get how that is an issue. Not saying it's easily solved but has always been something that has bothered me. It's one of the few aspects where offense should be buffed.

I've asked for a new system (or at least an active/passive toggle) for years now; without completely changing control schemes or even adding button mapping (because let's be honest, it's getting out of hand now), I don't see there being a perfect middle ground everyone can agree on.
