ok. Is it possible for a friend to buy the game on origin for me so i can use the code and download the game ?
- Straatford879 years ago
DICE Team
Short answer: no.
This is because when you buy a game on Origin it will automatically be redeemed on your account. This means that a friend won't be able to transfer the game or code to you since it will be tied to his own account.

That isn't really a reply to why we can't use paypal without payment card. It is like taking a railroad trip and get stuck for days on the track without any information as to why and when it will start moving again!
Kindly, why has it changed or is the answer too murky to be stated?
- Anonymous9 years agoI too card my Icici credit card (master card) to buy but origin doesnt recognise it. Plz say some of your bank and card details plz

Try using another payment method if Origin won't recognize the card, and please also make sure that all details relating to the card have been input correctly.
Further steps are detailed here:

What's the purpose of having Paypal if you won't accept payments without a creditcard.
Most Dutch people won't even ever have a creditcard.
This is complete BS..

because paypal is linked with my bank account. i make a payment through paypal and paypal will get the money from my bank. no creditcard needed.

Hi,
It can be either a credit card, or a debit card - as long as some form of payment is attached to your account.
Correct - thanks for detailing how the system works! Then why is Origin the ONLY place i cannot use my paypal with a linked banked account. Like I want to give you money but I cant because you guys demand a credit card linked. Seems pretty lame that I would have to use grey market key resellers because your system doesnt accept paypal linked bank payments when other platforms do (Steam, Uplay, anywhere else ive ever tried using paypal online)
- Anonymous9 years agoTry setting it up by linking your IBAN number with your bank. The paypal will make 2 small payments to you wich will act as a verification code. Put those payments into paypal and youre set!

I have $150CND in my account and Iv checked, thats enough. For ME:Andromeda. $79.99USD.
Yet Im still being asked for a card. The hell would I be using paypal for if I had a card?
Iv been able to buy things before, Inquisition for example. ME3, etc.
- Anonymous9 years agoYou can change the paypal payment method on checkout right??
- Anonymous9 years ago
I dont know if you were directing the question at me(previous poster) if so: No. I am offered two options. The first is a card or whatever via the normal method. The second is paypal which Iv been using for years. I ofc click that one and am then prompted to login to PP before being asked for card. This normally occurs when someone does not posses enough in PP balance.
I most certainly do though. At one point I even exchanged 120CND to 90USD and set USD as primary payment fund. In case that was the issue. Again, games slightly over 83USD with tax.
If you were talking to someone else, sorry about that. Still getting used tot this forum setup.
Hello.
To whoever joker behind this none sence or whoever knows exactly why this stupidiest change ever was made, i challenge you EA people to answer why one is forced to use a credit card to pay in Origin, On top of that i'm not American so i can use any workarounds because i don't have any american bank accounts to add to paypal.
Did you think America is all the world? Tell me why did you impose this silly requirement thats almost xenophobic, this is financial discrimination, i want to pay and i HAD a way and you people ruin it in ways that you may not even imagine, you laugh at us, all those countless times i contacted EA support, chatted to so many advisor and they seemed to be completely oblivious to what the problem was.
This is RIDICULOUS, is dumb, how many people want to spend money in your games and you give them troubles, you people don't even bother in explaining why you change your policies and you spect us to be OK with it?
For all the trouble you cause not just to me but anyone else with this problem, i hope for a propper answer, we are your customers, you can't expect us to be ok with you if you offer us a cool bunch of products but when we are passing through check out you rise your middle finger in front of our faces for not having a goddamn credit card right?Good Day
I am kind of confused, about 4 days ago I made a purchase on Battlefield 1 to buy something ingame. As usual the Payment goes over Origin. There all I did was pay with my PayPal account balance, which has a balance of enough money. It all went smoothly and I did not bat an eye.
Today allthough I saw the new Star Wars Battlefront II and I wanted to Preorder it. Now when paying I choose paying with Paypal and it asks me to give them my Credit Card Info (I don't own a credit card). I somehow can't choose paying with my PayPal account balance.
I don't understand... I payed with my PayPal account balance about 4 days ago and it worked with no problem.
To be on the same Page with my PayPal balance just incase someone dosen't know what I am talking about:
I added this money to my PayPal account through a debit card transaction. I thought PayPal was like a step inbetween when buying things online.
Cheers

Hi,
That's a great question - thanks for reaching out!
The difference between the orders is that Battlefront is a pre-order. We don't charge pre-orders until about a week before or two before launch. We therefore require a payment method attached to your account from which funds can be drawn at any time; e.g. your PayPal balance could be zero by the time the game launches, in which case your pre-order would fail. By still having the credit card attached the order will still go through.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for your awnser
This awnsers my question. Thank you for your quick response!

You're welcome!
And... don't forget about our awesome little forum community once you're deep into Battlefront II! We would love to have you back for a chat to discuss how you're enjoying the game.. :eahigh_file:
Cheers,
Disappointing that you cant use Paypal cash, that is the main thing about Paypal... And the worst thing is that you EA staff dont answer this type of comments. It has none sense what you are doing, the times where EA was awesome it let you buy with Paypal cash, nowadays we can see how this is. I wish noone buys you any more game, you deserve that because of blocking one of the most used payment methods via online.
Thank you, well done.

You can use your PayPal balance, but we would still like you to have an additional payment method attached in case there is a problem with your balance.
- Anonymous8 years ago
That is not a good answer. I can pre-order using paypal on Steam or steam credits. Why cannot we buy EA/Origins game credits via Paypal. Then use those game credits for pre-order
Orgins/EA...you really need to talk with Gabe Newell at Valve and learn how they work with credit. Because your method sucks. It is very rude to your customers to have a bad experience like this.
