Re: Game does not appear to be installed error

@built4thekill Hey, I suspect there's an issue with the old install of the game. Can you try grabbing the FIFA 15 folder and move it to a different location/rename it.

Then, within Programs and Features, manually uninstall it. You will likely get an error message with a prompt to continue, please do so.

Then move/rename your FIFA folder back to its F:\program files(x86)\origin games\ location and restart the Origin client. When you do so it should hopefully detect the game, do a quick scan and install, and you should be good to go.

If this doesn't work, please let us know, there are some more advanced steps that can be taken. However, hopefully the steps given will be sufficient.

  • Hi David, thanks for the reply...No didn't work...actually when moving the folder I noticed that it was only 2.76Gb. Looks like it didn't download completely despite getting the message that the game has finished downloading. Anyhow, tried what you said, it only prompts me to download again and it starts off at 28% (where it says playable). But its now its not downloading just stuck there... ☹️

    It definitely sounds like the install has issues. To start with, try removing and re-adding the game to your exceptions lists for your anti-virus and firewall. Also launch Origin as an administrator.

    If the issue persists, try the steps here to restart the install.

    1. Ensure Origin is fully closed by clicking the Origin Menu and selecting Exit.
    2. Navigate to the Origin subfolder located within C:\ProgramData\
    · Note: This folder is hidden by default, you will need to un-hide it first.
    3. Now delete ALL the subfolders visible within C:\ProgramData\Origin, except for the LocalContent folder.

  • HI David. Still same problem. Origin ends the download at 28% - the "playable" mark. And that's it. Get the same error msg. The Fifa 15 folder is still only 2.76Gb and origin crashes if I try anything on the FIFA 15 tab in the client

    built4thekill the first step, checked in Origin/Application Settings/Advanced/Safe Mod Downloading-checked Enable Safe Mod Downloading and do not forget make sure you are the administrator, run the setup file Origin with Admin rights and restart Origin.

    Solved your question ? ...please hit Accept As Solution on the post they did so others know it worked or have the curtsy to say " Thanks, but it didn't work "

  • Hi Yahel, thanks for the reply. I've uninstalled and redownloading in safe mode. I'll let you know if it works. I've thanked David in most of my posts so I'm not quite sure what your problem is with my courtesy.

    If anyone else has had this problem I've finally found a solution which even the techs at EA couldn't provide. Simply copy an install of the game from a friend's PC and follow the below tutorial of how to install an Origin game with an install from another PC:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yGXp6HLAUo

    My thanks to Dan for the tutorial. I might add to the tutorial that it would be a good idea to do a repair before launching which should install any DLC missing.

     Also thanks to everyone who tried to help me here

    cheers!!

    Hi there,

    Could you clarify the exact current issue that you are experiencing, and which steps you've already tried? Please add exact error messages or screenshots if available.

    Thank you,

    I download it 100 percent and I start it and it goes cool for a bit. I turn off the game and down where it says the percentage the game is at there is a notification I think I might be clicking something that resets the process. or I could be losing my mind lol

    Thanks for your reply.

    Could you please clear the Origin cache and run as administrator? You could also run the touchup.exe file (as admin) in your game installation folder:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 1\__Installer

    Let me know if that helps.

    It will not affect the game if it is already downloaded. Please do let me know if the steps worked for you (after you had a nice nap).

    @mlgguy131

    Good to hear that you had a good nap.. 🙂

    Are you using this Yoga 15 to play BF1? If so, it is somewhat under the minimum required specs to play BF1 - it's great that you were still able to play, but I sadly can't troubleshoot it to keep it from crashing.

    Some short tips to try and improve the gaming experience: try to close all background programs while playing, and put the graphical settings to their minimum.

    Do let me know if you have any further questions.

    hey again! I was wondering if there was anyway to help with the yoga problem like reducing graphics

    @mlgguy131

    So the thing with not meeting minimum requirements is that I can't guarantee that we can get it working properly.

    Lowering the graphical settings to the minimum and closing all background programs is certainly something that I would suggest to try. However, if that doesn't work I don't really have any further suggestions.

    Best of luck!
