Where did the issue occur? Loading into the match from the lobby
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. stormpoint loading manu and in the match
What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. waiting The loading for selecting the legend
Did your squad mates also experience the issue? No
How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? none
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) this patch
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
How severe is your issue? Major impacts to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? Game crash and sends engine error 0x887A0006 -DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG The Application's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is an design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed.
What should be happening instead? game starts. i select the legend . match begins
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? it happens to me and i think you need the same specs to have the same issue, try to emulate it.

    @Pyrmaidhead Thank you for the thorough post.
    When did you first get this?
    It's possible this is due to local file damage, can you try a repair (or a verify integrity on Steam) and see if that helps?

    @Pyrmaidhead 

    It may be worthwhile performing a clean install (via advanced install options) of the following 'Studio Driver'. 

    Studio Drivers tend to be more stable but potentially with slightly less performance.

    1. the issue is still there after doing all of :
reinstalling win 11.
switching back to win 10
reinstalling the GPU driver from  device manger and Geforce application
doing the repair button on Geforce application
reinstalling the game
repairing the game
checking for all driver updates
removing the game from steam and installing it from EA
repairing the game from EA
--------------
after all that the issue is the same
and the error is the same

      1. PS. Some youtube channel suggested to do a TdrLevel reg file "DWORD-32" and set it to 0
but a friend of mine said it too risky and might shorten my GPU life-span.

    Which Legends were your squad mates using (if applicable)?
    Where did the issue occur? In a match
    Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. control maps. all off them.
    What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. running around, in match, fighting.. happens all over the place, ruins me match...
    Did your squad mates also experience the issue? I don't know
    How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? 1... Happens up to 15 times in one control match...

    What happens when the bug occurs? It crashes me game, so i have to log back in, and sometimes crashes me pc also... So it restart.. No other games does this but apex legends.
    What should be happening instead? No crashing??

    Im getting really frustrated over this, 

    tryed several fixes, 

    Updated, check hardware, cables. 

    Nothing works...

    I get the error : 0x887A0006 - DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG...

    I fixed me error! 

    Went in to Bios. 

    I didnt have XMP activated. 

    Did a uninstall vid drivers in safemode, and unplugged me ethernet also. (DDU - Display driver uninstaller)

    When back in normal mode Installed the driver from nvidia (latest!)

    Plugged back in ether after restart. And now it works!

    NO MORE CRASH! :D

    Oh well.. 

    Issue is back again..

    I'm strongly considering uninstalling game... 

    This pisses me off badly... 

    New * pc. And respawn release a pack with these issues..

    Im gonna puke.. ☹️

    - Sadly does not seem like they even care...

    This is happening too on AMD RX 7900 XTX with 23.5.2 drivers.

    It used to crash, for me, on dx12 only (I created a post about this in bug section), but now it also crashes for dx11

    Just want to signal boost this - receiving this error after installing my 7900xtx as well. Please, let me know if this is an error on your end (ea) or something I would have to rma my graphics card for. I’ve done the whole song and dance with ddu and stuff.

    Just to note: played 3 rounds of ow2 no problem on full settings. 

    update: also just did bf2042 full settings ultra with RT on no problemo. It’s def apex
