Apex Legends Keybind reset and Trailer when reopening game

Hello! okay so i have a bug where sometimes i open my game all my settings reset and my game has a trailer when i load up, every time it scares me so much because i keep thinking. "did i get hacked" or "did i loose everything?" so if there is some sort of fix you can all tell me please please let me know!

  • Hey @nxtasx

In my experience this most often happens because something is blocking Apex Legends from editing the file where it stores your in-game settings. In a lot of cases it's security software that is blocking the changes.

If you haven't already, be sure to double-check and make sure you have an exception for Apex Legends in your security programs. If that doesn't help, try setting up a Clean Boot to see if the settings changes will stick afterward. That may help narrow down what's blocking Apex Legends from accessing the config file. You can find more details on how to set one up over at the EA Help website

  • @nxtasxhad one case where a similar thing happened to a teammate of mine - his game crashed (like it nowadays happen to do on regular yet random occasions), he loaded back into the game, joined the team who already landed on the map just to realize that all his keybinds were blank! not even default but blank.

He had to spend like 1-2 min to rebind it all in game because his CFG file also was just gone from PC based on his feedback so he could not just restart the game and reload previously set binds :D

Go figure who hacks your PC - hacker or Respawn :D
