Apex: staggering lag problem

Where did the issue occur? In a match

How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
How severe is your issue? Major impacts to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? Game starts to stagger every other second. In-game, my movement is fine but other players only move every other second so there's no smooth movement. It starts in the room where you choose your legend and continues for the entire match and then continues in the lobby until I restart the game. If I do not die early I usually get an error message "out of sync with server" but I usually can't play long enough for me to get kicked out and that error message to appear.
What should be happening instead? Smooth gameplay, no staggering. Like most of my games.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Happens at random every 1/5 game or something. Don't know how you could find it.

I've updated my drivers and tried lowering the settings and it still happens equally often. My GPU is running at 75-95% with the new settings.

    @Krilleex  Can you try power cycling your router and see if it has any effect? Also if you connect via wifi, can you try using a cable and see if anything changes?

    It sounds like you're having some network issues, and hopefully the starter steps above will help.

  • @EA_David  This is not a network issue. It feels very much like graphics issue. Whenever this happens it continues in the lobby, the background lags just like in the match. Sometimes it even starts in the lobby. I'm pretty sure the lobby graphics are network related. I've also tested my ping and network speed and it is good. With other games like Black Ops I've never had this problem.

    @Krilleex  If your movement is smooth and other players aren't. that's very indicative of a network or server issue. If it were an issue with local performance, you would not appear to run smoothly. If you can grab a clip of this happening that should be more helpful for figuring out what's going on. 

    The detail about the lobby is certainly interesting though, can you grab a clip of this happening too? I know in some cases network conditions can affect the lobby but I'd like to know a bit more to be sure. 

    As for the network, ping and network speed are less of an issue in this case than potential packet loss, but again I'd like more info.

    I uploaded a clip to Youtube if you want to take a look.

    As you can see the lag continues in the lobby and in the pre-match lobby.

    My own movement is usually smoother than this but the FPS dropped because I was recording with fraps. It usually runs with 144fps.

    As you can see there are no packet losses.

    Thank you for the video. Unfortunately the ping data to Google doesn't really discount the possibility of a network/server issue.


    From the video it looks like a network/server sync issue, can I check if you've tried the network steps mentioned previously?

    I don't want to discount a strange local performance issue too, can you try restarting with a Clean Boot then play again and see if anything changes.

    Did your squad mates also experience the issue? No

    How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
    How severe is your issue? Little to no impact to gameplay
    What happens when the bug occurs? Reverted to homescreen with an error that says "Out of sync with server" every time I try to enter the training ground. There is no error when joining normal games. I have not experienced this issue prior to the season 1 update.
    What should be happening instead? I should get past the loading screen and enter the training error

  • I've had issues in matches where everyone else's characters are moving as normal, yet my characters movements are stagered, I try to pick something up, it disappears as if I picked it up but then it appears on the ground again a second later, I hadn't picked it up...? I say I'm lagging but the game tells me I have the best ping out of everyone in my team? Clearly not... Then when I am playing matches where it seems to be working as normal I get asked the question "Did you enjoy the match you just played?" And I'm like yeah, ask me again when I'm lagging so I can tell you there's an issue, only so far it's not asked me after a match where the issue happens...
