DDos'd and penalized like WTF

This is usually a tricky thing.

They'd need to detect a DDOS attack to prevent you from losing points, though if they're able to detect a DDOS attack, it'll be much easier to stop it.

As far I'm aware, DDOS attacks can sometimes be hard to spot, meaning that if they were able to detect it, it wouldn't happen in the first place.

Now I know it can be frustrating, though points are usually not refunded, unless a massive bug caused a lot of issues (Which even then is pretty rare)

If you find yourself encountering many DDOS'ers / Cheaters, it might help to change the datacenter you're playing on, as it's entirely possible that the region you're playing in has a higher % of these types of players.

I'm automatically put on the Dallas server (obviously I can change it) And yeah they haven't even given me back the 1k+ points I lost LAST split because of their +0 bug. I actually have a screenshot of this but it happened at LEAST 10 times with varying points removed and not added back when I refreshed my game.

ALSO that being said.. I was DDos'd TWICE once yesterday afternoon and once this early morning. And that's only in the last two days. On top of losing points when teammates prematurely disconnect from a match. They close their game and don't log back in or do log back in and their name is greyed out in game but green (yes this happens when I have the banner as well) and they can continue playing with no repercussions  while me and my teammate get - however points if we don't go positive as a duo. I'm in PC lobbies but I also have console friends so I'm on different servers all the time, depending on who is the lobby leader. All this * makes it hard for me to rank up. I would be mid plat already if this * wasn't happening in addition to getting DDos''d.

The rank restoration from the previous split was given out successfully, though the way it works is a bit different than players expected.

This restoration was intended to pull players to a specific rank rather than giving the accounts RP.

Meaning that if your restoration point was Gold III and you ranked up to Plat II before the ranked restoration, it would technically pull you down to Gold III from Plat II.

Though what they've done is make it so players that passed the restoration point will just keep the current rank they had at that moment, making it seem like there was no restoration whilst there technically was one.

As for the DDOS issue, it's something that's always being worked on.

I've heard something about the DDOS protection that's currently being used in Diamond+ lobbies might be moving over to normal matches, though this is all just speculation.

Hopefully we'll see some developments in DDOS protection, since it's obviously being detrimental to players like you.

The times I got +0 and was deducted points the most was when I was in diamond 4 / plat 1. Now I don't know about everybody else but I got reset to gold 3 -- which is annoying enough in itself. So personally I don't feel like my points were "restored" in any manner. And I was less than 200 points from diamond 3 before I started getting that bug, CONSTANTLY. So all that being said.. I'm just getting completely jipped of points (over 1k and still adding up) that I don't feel like I personally have been compensated for. The amount of issues I'm having now in gold 1/2 with DDos'ers and the amount of issues last split alone makes it horrible to play for me, much less solo q ranked. 

AND this is on top of being a female. The amount of times I report people and nothing is done about it is exceedingly high. I have guys call me fat, tell me to get in the kitchen and do my job, call me a *, a *, a *, and be told to go back working on the streets among other names (I'm sure a lot of what I just typed will be censored). The fact that my reports are just marked "solved" and written off, even when I have voice-to-text for chat/party members enabled is just... demoralizing. I've never understood what gives the person the right to attack someone because they don't do what you want them to do in a game. And the other day I had someone say "I can't believe you're diamond etc" attacking my ability and my rank because I dropped later on versus right away.. like WTF.

And one more issue I've had is that my settings -- all of my audio, video, and gameplay settings reset themselves every time I've opened the game. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, used the cloud, not used the cloud, installed the origin version separately as well as the steam version -- and nothing has fixed it. I've been playing again since season 8/9 and it's been happening since then. I've kinda resigned myself to resetting my settings every time I log in.

Now if you can give me an excuse or tell me anything was SUCCESSFULLY done please do. Because I don't believe it.

Yeah I have to agree that the ranked restoration was quite disappointing for many, though I don't think they're really going back to work on that anymore, so that just straight up sucks.

And I do know how bad people can be online, it's awful.

As far I'm aware, Voice Chat isn't recorded in this game, which makes it a bit harder to action users for things they say in the voice chat.

Though for reports related to chat are usually dealt with quite quickly.

Honestly, I'd wish that the chat situation would just get better, though, it's probably going to take quite some time before that happens. (Though the gaming scene overall is quite toxic)

If you're interested, the r/Apexlegends Discord has LFG systems, which makes it easier to find people to group up with beforehand.

As for the settings issue, could you check something for me? 

Follow these steps to go to a specific directory:

1. Press Windows Key + R
2. Put in %USERPROFILE%\saved games\respawn\ and select OK

Now check if these items are read-only by right-clicking the file and going to the properties:

• Apex Folder
• Profile Folder
• Local Folder
• Profile.cfg (apex/profile)
• Settings.cfg (apex/local)
• Videoconfig.cfg (apex/local)

If any of those are set to read-only, please disable it as it makes the game unable to save changes made to settings.

(These folders/files in question don't get repaired/uninstalled when repairing/reinstalling the game, hence why they probably were left untouched)

This game definitely needs a lot of work, though that doesn't mean everything they have done can be considered a failure.

For voice chat - there IS a voice to text option which isn't always accurate but does work sometimes, so I report that when derogatory things are said towards me and they just ignore it even if the voice-to-text option relayed it correctly. I feel like they encourage toxicity with this behavior because one person out of a lot getting penalized a month or every few months? That's not enforcing anything or taking it seriously.

I tried your option but every time I unchecked the read-only box (and yes I have the perms to do it it's my computer I built and I'm the admin) and applied and saved the changes, I would re-open it to see if it kept my change but it just keeps resetting the read-only box and re-checking it. I tried unchecking it and applying it and saving it at least 20 times now and that's definitely not the specific solution for me.
