Issue

The game displays elements that are beyond the specified safe area of my screen. Unlike other games, Apex Legends does not seem to have a way to specify the safe area of your screen. This causes the game to display elements that are partially or fully beyond your screen's size, preventing the player from being able to see things towards the edges of the screen. Even if the safe area is specified within the console's (PS4) settings menu, the game still does not change the safe area accordingly.

Recommended Solution

Either add an option to the game's video settings to specify a screen safe area OR somehow allow the game to adjust to the safe area that is specified in the console's settings menu.

Extra

Browsing through the r/ApexLegends subreddit and even here on the forums, you will find other players experiencing the same problem. It is very frustrating but is not getting enough attention.

So I found a solution to the problem.

The “over the safe zone” issue I noticed seems to occur when your switching from one TV to another with two separate sizes.

What I did that solved the issue was that I disconnected the cable from my consoles adapter that connects to the wall.
Disconnect the cable from the adapter side, then disconnect the cable that connects to your console.

Now plug the cable that connects to the console itself and wait for the adapter light to disappear. Then plug everything else back in.

So I think what happens is that when you’re switching TVs with different monitor sizes, the console system doesn’t register the changes until all the cables are removed individually then plugged back in. So in a way, your resetting the system by eliminating power from the adapter itself.

Similar to how you need to unplug and internet modem for 30 seconds. That should solve your issue.

The console will then auto correct your safe zone when you boot it back up. Hope this helps!

  • you mean to tell me after 2 years there is still no fix for this. you literally have EA Staff asking "what the problem" and "what's it look like" and doing absolutely nothing after two years.

How have the respanwn team not fixed this or even acknowledged the problem by now. this is ridiculous

  • Just Had the Same Problem rn on my Ps4 slim, just switched my Hdmi from 2 to 1, hope this helps.
